Trivia: John Rhys-Davies is missing the end of his middle finger on his left hand due to a farming accident as a child. The make-up artists made artificial, gelatin fingertips for him to wear in the movies. Davies one day, cut the tip in half, put 'blood' in it and closed it up. He went over to Peter Jackson (unaware of the gelatin tip) and said, "Boss, I've had an accident, look what happened". Jackson saw a small cut, but Davies bent the tip back and it split open, gushing.

Revealing mistake: When Gandalf, Aragorn, Theoden, Legolas and Gimli all ride up the hill on horses towards the end, there is a man on a horse on the left of the screen. Who is he and why is he there? He's Éomer's body double (Karl Urban was unavailable) and at some stage they were going to put Éomer's head on him digitally, but they never got around to it. Director's commentary, extended DVD. (01:43:05)

Trivia: The Warg scene that includes the infamous shot of Legolas leaping onto the horse, was filmed on the same day that Orlando Bloom fell off his horse and cracked his rib. He landed on a rock and Gimli's scale double (Brett) fell on top of him. So the filming crew could not film Bloom actually jumping onto his saddle, because of the injury. Later in post-production, about six months before the release of "The Two Towers," Bloom had grown a beard, for the filming of "Ned Kelly" (2001). He was not permitted to shave, which meant he could not do the pickups for this scene in "The Two Towers," so the CG animators at WETA created a CG Legolas to do the actual springing onto the horse. Trivia: Andy Serkis (Gollum) did the voices of three Uruk-hai and Orcs in the scene outside Fangorn. Some of the lines he says are, "We ain't had nuthin but maggoty bread for three stinkin' days," and "Why can't we have some meat. What about them? They're fresh." (00:28:40)

Trivia: It is Christopher Lee's voice mixed with Ian McKellen's that is heard when Gandalf speaks while he's hidden by the white light in Fangorn Forest. It is also Lee's voice heard when King Theoden is speaking to Gandalf, while he is still under Saruman's power. Confirmed on the commentary.

Continuity mistake: Just before Frodo is stabbed by the Troll, 2 buttons are closed on his vest. When he's stabbed, 1 button is closed. When Aragorn rolls him over, after being stabbed, he has an open vest. It remains open until being surrounded by the Orcs in the great hall. Gandalf says, "This foe is beyond any of you. Run!" and Frodo's scale double has his vest fully buttoned. Just after Gandalf yells to Aragorn, "Swords are of no more use here," Frodo has only 2 buttons closed. Then as the stairs are collapsing under Frodo and Aragorn's feet, his vest is mostly buttoned again. (00:32:10 - 00:38:25)

The Art of War (2000)

Continuity mistake: When Anne Archer and Donald Sutherland are talking in the back seat of the car, the direction of traffic on Anne's left changes back and forth (they haven't made any turns). Also, a city bus is pulled over at the curb, facing the opposite direction of traffic and the parked cars. (00:13:05 - 00:14:00)

The Art of War (2000)

Continuity mistake: Wesley Snipes kicks out the driver's side window of the car that's trying to slam into him. Having shot out the back left window earlier, both left windows should now be gone. As the car veers away from Snipes in the next shot, both windows aren't smashed. Then, in the next shot the two left side windows are gone. (00:40:30)

The Art of War (2000)

Revealing mistake: The young Asian driver of the car was shot in the head by Snipes, and is very dead. As Snipes is trying to escape from the car by crawling out the back left window, the older Caucasian stunt guy is driving the car - with his very open eyes. (00:39:40)

The Art of War (2000)

Revealing mistake: There are supposed to be two dead young Asian males sitting in the back of the car, but in this shot, it is so obvious that there are two dead 'dummies' riding in the back. Also, in the crash, a few seconds later, very blatant dummy heads are flying everywhere. (00:40:40)

The Art of War (2000)

Continuity mistake: As the bomb in the car is exploding, the shot from inside the diner has the windows of the diner shatter, but in the next 2 shots outside the diner, the windows are fine and intact. Seconds later, when Snipes steals the blue car, pulls around the corner and passes the diner, that shot shows the glassless windows. (01:06:40)

Continuity mistake: The Troll hasn't even entered the doorway yet, and both Sam and Aragorn look way up, as if the Troll were standing right in front of them already, but the Troll is only visible more in the distance, through the door. Since the Troll is still only in the doorway for them to see, the eye angle should still be towards the doorway, not up over them. Then when the Troll smashes through the doorway, and walks towards Sam, in the same shot as earlier, Sam looks way up at the Troll, but this time the eye angle is correct. (00:29:35)

Trivia: The filming of the Battle of Helm's Deep was so long and grueling (months), that by the end of the shoot, the actors, crew and extras had T-shirts made up that read, "I survived Helm's Deep," but with the letter "m" crossed out.

Trivia: During the filming, Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn) and Orlando Bloom (Legolas) would rib each other quite a lot. Mortensen would tell Bloom to go brush his long, blond hair and get another manicure, because the Elves are so prissy. Bloom would call Mortensen a dirty human (which is entirely true as he rarely bathed during filming) and say that at least the Elves live forever (which is entirely false and is based on a popular misconception of how long they live).

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Boromir attacks him, Frodo frantically slips the Ring onto his middle finger (with the chain). Yet, as Frodo runs up the steps of the ruins, Boromir yells, "Frodo, I'm sorry!" and Frodo wears the Ring on his index finger. He is terrified, so as to remain invisible he does not change fingers. (01:15:30 - 01:16:35)

Trivia: When the Ring speaks to Aragorn, the subtitles say, "Aragorn, Aragorn, Elessar." However, when listening to the words spoken, it sounds like the Ring says, "Aragorn, Aragorn, bless us." Even on the audio commentary, Elijah Wood (Frodo) says, "I love that the Ring actually speaks to Viggo, as it tempts him, 'bless us', that's amazing, I didn't pick that up until the third time I saw the movie." The other three Hobbit actors (Sean Astin, Dominic Monahan, and Billy Boyd) seemed to concur. (01:17:50)

Continuity mistake: Peter picks up Georgey, who is holding his Gameboy, spins him around and sits Georgey on the kitchen counter. In the next shot, the Gameboy is gone. It's not on the counter or in his pocket. (00:21:35)

Road To Perdition (2002)

Trivia: Jude Law's character, Maguire, was based on Arthur Fellig, who photographed bodies at crime and fire scenes, then sold them to the tabloids. The photos shown in Maguire's apt are real crime scene photos and some were taken by Fellig himself.

Super Grover

Revealing mistake: When Mrs Arness and her dog, William Shakespeare, are at Peter's house, the dog walks over to Georgie. You can see the actor who plays Georgie had to hold dog treats in both of his hands to keep the dog near him in the scene. Confirmed in the audio commentary. (01:09:05)
