Emergency! (1972)

Trivia: When 'Emergency!' originally began, its Executive Producer/creator Bob Cinader stipulated that the show's writers use real-life rescues, that had been logged in real fire stations' logbooks, as the basis for the rescues they depict in their scripts. Cinadar told them that they may use logbooks from any city in the States, not just LA, or LA County, as long as the rescue comes from a fire station's logbook, and is based on reality. In addition, the rescues/stories in the scripts had to conform to the protocols of the LA County Fire Dept, within the environment of Los Angeles. (According to a blog by Randolph Mantooth).

Mascot - S1-E2

Continuity mistake: When Squad 51 is dispatched to the heart attack, when Roy opens the apparatus bay door John and Bonnie run underneath, and we can see that Engine 51 is not parked in the bay, but in the exterior shot of the squad pulling out the engine is in the bay.

Limelight - S6-E24

Trivia: Keep your eyes peeled for the big sheepdog who runs right into the patio door in the background, when Roy and Johnny are with the sitter who's hyperventilating, due to three very obnoxious boys she's been babysitting, and then the look on Johnny's face as he tries not to break character when he turns to Roy and says "Dumb dog." Also, a few moments later you'll see Roy and his imaginary watch. Absolutely priceless.

Family Ties - S6-E16

Visible crew/equipment: After both siblings are carried out of the burning house, when Roy kneels down beside the boy and leans forward to set down the drug box, the bulging outline of Roy's mic transmitter is visible (till the end of the scene) at the front, left side of his shirt, and note that the actor even touches it, possibly to make sure it didn't move out of place.

Family Ties - S6-E16

Continuity mistake: When Station 51 is dispatched to the 'traffic accident with people trapped', time out is 10:23, but when Roy takes the man's blood pressure his watch reads 9:00, and when Johnny's on the Biophone with Rampart his watch reads 11:25. Then when John gives Rampart the second set of vitals, his watch reads 2:20.

All Night Long - S6-E21

Continuity mistake: When Roy and Johnny are on their lines attempting to rescue the unconscious game show contestant wannabe, before they're able to get the pompier life belt around the man's waist, the belt falls to the ground and lands near the man's cape and broken balancing pole. However, when the ambulance attendants walk towards the building, in the overhead shot the life belt has vanished; only the cape and broken pole are lying on the ground.

All Night Long - S6-E21

Continuity mistake: When Station 51 is dispatched to the 'man trapped between two buildings', Roy is not wearing a watch when he and John head out on the lines between the buildings and also when they get back on the roof, but during the actual rescue while on the lines, both stunt guys are wearing watches on their wrists.

All Night Long - S6-E21

Continuity mistake: When Station 51 is dispatched to the 'man down', time out is 21:30, but when Johnny and Roy are at Mr. Jefferson's apartment, Johnny's watch reads 3:05. Back at the station, when Chet's sitting beside Johnny at the typewriter, Johnny's watch reads 5:15, but at Rampart it's after 2:00 when Mr. Jefferson has the bypass operation. When Station 51 is dispatched to the car accident, time out is 1:50, but when Johnny checks the woman's pupils, his watch reads 1:00, and when they're back at the station his watch reads 10:05, as Johnny tells Roy that the show is crazy.

All Night Long - S6-E21

Continuity mistake: When Dr. Early and Dr. Morton are in the treatment room with Mr. Jefferson, Morton's stethoscope is draped over his shoulder with the ear tubes at his back in the wide shots, but in the closeup the ear tubes are lying in front.

All Night Long - S6-E21

Continuity mistake: When Roy and Johnny are in the apartment, just as Mr. Jefferson mentions that Shorty brought in hot tractors, it cuts to a closeup of Roy who is not wearing a stethoscope, but in the next shot the stethoscope is suddenly around Roy's neck.

All Night Long - S6-E21

Continuity mistake: When Station 51 is dispatched to 'the man down' at the hotel, Roy gets into the squad fully dressed (he was talking to Chet) and wearing his blue uniform shirt, but when they're in the apartment his shirt is gone and he's only wearing an undershirt under his jacket, though Johnny is wearing his uniform shirt.

All Night Long - S6-E21

Continuity mistake: When Station 51 is dispatched to 'man down' at Hotel Potter, the address is given as 11876 Fishburn, between MacArthur and West 7th, but when the squad and engine are in front of the building, the corner street signs read Trenton and Parkview.

Show generally

Other mistake: There are two specific pieces of stock footage used from season 3 onward, when the camera faces the fire station, it shows either just Squad 51, or both Squad 51 and Engine 51 pulling out of the apparatus bay, then turning left (viewer's right) onto E 223rd St, and the real Station 127's Truck 127 can be seen parked in the side driveway. Examples are: In season 6, "The Exam", when Squad 51 responds to Molly's phone call, and in "Hypochondri-Cap", when Station 51 is dispatched to an 'unconscious female in a car'.

Hypochondri-Cap - S6-E23

Visible crew/equipment: After their shift is over, all the guys wait in the apparatus bay for Captain Stanley to come out, and when Medford walks over to them, an actor's tape mark beside Chet's foot and another near Marco's foot are visible on the floor. Then when Cap walks out, another tape mark is visible on the floor in front of Mike's foot.

Pressure 165 - S5-E7

Continuity mistake: While Johnny and the doctor are in the pressurized chamber with the diver, the guy outside the chamber tells them that they're at 165 and vetting, as he holds the mic up to his mouth with his left hand, but when it cuts to the interior shot, the mic is held up in his right hand.

Pressure 165 - S5-E7

Deliberate mistake: When Roy and Johnny are on the Coast Guard helicopter, approaching Catalina Island with the injured diver, there is a closeup shot of them looking out the windows, which is a flipped shot - note the backwards paramedic patch on the right sleeve, instead of being on the left sleeve.

[Henry, the dog who is never ever off the couch, whimpers.]
Johnny: [Talking to Henry, while typing on the typewriter.] Sorry. Didn't mean to disturb you. Acting kinda uppity aren't you? I may put you in the script. Yeah. A dog that does nothing. [Henry whimpers.] Just sits there. People like that, y'know. A schleppy dog. You'll schlep out on stage and schleep on the couch. Dumb dog! [Henry whimpers.] Making me feel guilty. Why don't you howl or something?
