Question: When the crew gets struck by the gigantic wave on the Miller's planet, CASE is shown to be able to morph into a wheel-like form, and rescue Amelia. If CASE is actually that fast, and that "versatile" to hold things while running, why can't he actually just move around the surface, and survey the wreckage of Miller's ship. That would have saved a lot of time, wouldn't it?

Answer: The robots are very helpful in this movie, yes, but the movie also makes a point that exploration is done by humans and not by the robotic helpers. Compare this to the docking scene, where the robots initially thought that the maneuver was impossible. Relying on the robots might actually hamper the exploration.

Question: Maria's father tells her that Joaquin will only stay in their city, San Angel, if she marries him. Otherwise, if Maria doesn't marry him, Joaquin will have to leave. San Angel is also Joaquin's home city. Why would he have to leave?

John Ohman

Chosen answer: Because it was mentioned that Joaquin goes from town to town saving people from bandits. It's likely that everyone was under the assumption he would leave again to help other people, and he has nothing other than Maria and General Posada tying him to San Angel (except maybe Manolo).

Question: If Russell was with Mr. Fredrickson for at least 3 days, why are neither of his parents looking for him, or at least getting worried?

Answer: We, the movie audience, are never privy to Russel's parents and their reactions to circumstances which transpire. For all we know, an extensive hunt for Russell could have been initiated by his parents off screen.

Michael Albert

Answer: I have repeatedly told people he wore a sweater. There has to be one, more original, that has him in a sweater. I remember almost like a Easter yellow.

It should be noted Rhames does wear what looks like a yellow sweater in "Pulp Fiction." Although I wouldn't call it Easter Yellow.

Bishop73

I saw Ving Rhames in a navy crewneck sweater in the closing shots of this film.

I also can swear I saw an ending with Ving Rhames wearing a sweater. This would be in keeping with Klein asking him earlier in the film if he ever wears sweaters.

Answer: My wife and I also believe that Agent Duane Stevenson wore a sweater at the end of the movie on the VHS version. The DVD version switched Duane with suit, white shirt and tie - no sweater.

Answer: I saw Ving Rhames in a navy crewneck sweater at the end of movie shot.

Chosen answer: Dave and the First Lady snuck out of the White House via a secret underground route which Dave, inexplicably, knew about but the First Lady didn't. The passage led them from inside the White House to an outside location, nearby where Duane of Dave's secret service detail had left a car for them to use. It's still implausible that they could circumvent the remaining Secret Service in making their sojourn, but that is the disbelief that we, the audience, are asked to suspend for the sake of advancing the plot. Upon returning, the couple drive up to the entry gate, where the guard, seeing whom he believes to be the President and First Lady, lets them return to the house. Their only explanation?"The President wanted some ice cream." The MORE implausible question would be how the guard simply trusts that two look-alikes driving up to the White House unattended in a non-government car with a lame excuse would simply let the two pass without consulting the secret service, who should have informed him of the President's comings and goings?

Michael Albert

Question: It is stated that Joaquin's father is dead. However, Joaquin's mother never shows up throughout the film nor is there a mention on whether she is also deceased or still alive. What happened to Joaquin's mother? Why does she never appear?

John Ohman

Chosen answer: We believe she left him when his dad died. Supposedly she's in Mexico city.

Show generally

Question: In this show and in the 90's movies, the Turtles absolutely love pizza. Though this was not hit on in the 00's show. Was their love of pizza created for the 80's show, or did they have that in the original comics as well?

Quantom X

Chosen answer: The Turtles' pizza obsession was not in the original comics, which were far more adult in the violence and language they contained. Peter Laird, one of the comic's creators was critical of this aspect on his blog in 2012, saying if he had control over the 80s cartoon's creative direction, the Turtles "would not have been so ridiculously obsessed with pizza".

Question: If you beat Brain Andross on the Red Path, the "ghost" of James McCloud, Fox's father, appears and helps Fox escape the exploding base. What is the explanation for this? Is it actually the ghost of James? Was Fox hallucinating? Was James really alive the whole time? What happened exactly?

Quantom X

Answer: There isn't really an agreed answer to this, and the game leaves it purposely ambiguous. It's entirely possible that James is just a figment of Fox's imagination. It's also possible that his spirit is guiding him or that he's secretly alive. So in truth, any answer would be pure, 100% speculation.

Question: While Manolo serenades Maria, Joaquin comes to visit Maria in her room and tries to talk to her. Why does Joaquin suddenly hesitate? Does he actually hear Manolo singing and figure that Maria is paying attention to Manolo?

Answer: Well, Manolo is his best friend after all. By not interrupting he is just being fair. Plus, the situation would have been a bit weird if he said something, so he just left to "prepare" something bigger: the proposal.

Question: What is supposed to happen if you say Voldemort's name? Harry says it throughout the series many times, and nothing happens to him. Why do Arthur Weasley (in this movie) and other people always tell him to stop?

Answer: Actually, nothing happens to anyone who says it. The idea is that Voldemort was so evil that nearly everyone feared saying his name aloud, referring to him only as "You-Know-Who" or "The Dark Lord." Only Harry and Dumbledore freely spoke his name aloud, having no fear of it. However, in HP and the Deathly Hallows, Voldemort, knowing this about Harry, places a jinx on his own name, and anyone saying it will immediately reveal their location. Hermione happened to say "Voldemort" out loud right after she, Harry, and Ron escaped the attack at the wedding and were in the coffee shop. Two Death Eaters appear immediately after she says it, and almost capture the trio.

raywest

Answer: Voldemort can find whoever says his name. That's why people don't say his name - purely for the sake of their life.

That is only true after the death eaters take over the ministry.

Question: How does Edith know Richie puts little curlers in his hair because his hair is naturally straight?

kh1616

Chosen answer: Because his hair looks comically unnatural. The only way to achieve the look is to use curlers.

Question: In the book, Plutarch says that he never imagined Katniss being in the games, and gave her hints because he thought she would be mentoring the next tribute. However, in the movie, there's a deleted scene that shows him switching game plans, so he did make it so that Katniss and Haymitch/Peeta would be in the games again. Someone help me understand this?

Terra-mae Patrisha Box

Chosen answer: The dance scene took place long before the time when Plutarch would have been changing out the Quarter Quell box. He had plenty of time to change his mind.

kristenlouise3

Question: How is Kitty exactly sending a person's mind back in time? As far as I ever knew, her power was just walking through walls and stuff. So how can she do this?

Quantom X

Chosen answer: Her new powers are explained that she can phase a persons consciousness through time the same way she can phase through walls.

Chosen answer: Because his age is finally starting to show. He is after all the oldest member of the group.

MasterOfAll

Chosen answer: Because although Quicksilver is a mutant, most of his history, as well as his sister Scarlet Witch, was developed in the Avengers comics. So both are in a middle ground area for both studios to use. Marvel just can't call them Mutants or reference Magneto as their father.

Question: When Manolo is killed by Xibalba's snake, he is at the entrance of the Land of the Remembered. When the deceased captain is giving Manolo a ride toward his deceased family, they are already in the land of the remembered just before the captain's wife, who has just died, shows up in front of them. Manolo's father is killed by the bandit at the same place where Manolo dies. But he is transported to the bull fighting ring where Manolo is fighting the bull skeletons. Manolo's grandmother also shows up at the bull fighting ring as soon as she dies. Why doesn't Manolo's father or grandmother get transported to the entrance of the Land of the Dead upon their deaths like Manolo does?

John Ohman

Chosen answer: Most likely because his closest family was supposed to watch and they were the last to really close ones.

Question: When Mike gets a postcard about the Dolphin and room 1408, he writes on the back for a moment as he figures something in his head and circles a (=13). He then says cute. How exactly did he figure 13 from 1408? I am confused by that part.

Quantom X

Chosen answer: He sums up the individual numbers: 1+4+0+8 = 13.

Twotall

Question: When Patrick talks to Carnes, he confesses that he murdered Paul Owen. Why doesn't Carnes believe him, and how could Carnes have had dinner with Paul?

Answer: There are two possible answers. First, Carnes doesn't recognize Christian Bale as Bateman, instead thinking he is someone named Davis. He insults Bateman and thinks "Davis" left the message as a joke. Realize also that someone claims to have seen Owen/Allen in London, but mistook Herbert Ainsworth for him. Second, Bateman is delusional and only thinks he killed Owen/Allen, who is in fact alive and in London.

Greg Dwyer

Question: In the first movie does Mr. Myagi have a trabant car in his front yard?

Answer: No, the closest thing to looking like a Trabant is a 1959 Metropolitan 1500.

Question: I understand why the killer was after the 4 teenagers that were responsible for Robin's death. But there's something I can't figure out. The girl that was with Slick and having sex with him in his van, she wasn't one of the 4 teens. Neither was Slick. First he killed the pigtails girl, she was there. And then he went after the girl and Slick in the van, but neither of them had connection to Robin's death that I could figure out. He then went after the girl in the red dress who was one of the kids, and then went after the other two, the guy and the main girl. But Slick and the girl he was having sex with in his van, I can't figure out why the killer left the school to go after them. Why?

Quantom X

Chosen answer: The girl in the van was Jude. She was involved in Robin's death. You see her flashback as young Jude when she receives her prank phone call then she meets Slick walking on her way to school.
