Hidden Figures (2016)

Corrected entry: When Katherine is blamed for long bathroom visits, she explains this by the absence of colored bathrooms in the building. After this scene Al Harrison is seen taking down the sign at a ladies bathroom and after this he says to Katherine "now you have a bathroom close to your desk." However, the sign that he takes down is 'Colored Ladies Room', a facility that was not supposed to be in the building.

Correction: They weren't in the same building. He knocked down the colored ladies' room sign in the building Kathrine goes to on the west campus.

Frasier (1993)

Frasier Grinch - S3-E9

Corrected entry: At the cafe, the employee says that Niles' credit card was declined at the register because "cancelled by order of co-signatory." A co-signatory shouldn't be able to cancel the card without the other person.

Correction: It depends on state laws and the credit card company. A co-signor is just as liable for any accumulated debts and fees on the card, they just don't have purchasing rights. However, usually a co-signor can't just take his or her name off the account, the account has to be closed.

Bishop73

Are there cash registers that will reveal that a cosigner cancelled? I've been a cashier at a few places, the register always says "declined" or "insufficient funds."

I remember in the 80's and 90's instead of a card being listed as declined, the cashier (or whoever was charging the card) was instructed to call an 800-number for verification, etc. I never had to call, but certainly more information could be given over the phone.

Charmed (1998)

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: There is a difference between an Empath and the power of Empathy. A true Empath is a mortal that has died and been reincarnated and they are a separate race of magical beings. But other beings, such as witches, can have the power of empathy. It does get confusing because they refer to a witch with empathy as an empath, but that doesn't mean they are true empaths. In addition, Phoebe developed her empathy powers in her 20's as one of her first powers and her power of empathy is the strongest of any being.

Bishop73

And where is this stated anywhere in the 8 seasons of the show?

Corrected entry: In the final scene/fight against the lizard, Captain Stacey shoots off the Lizard's fingers after they are frozen by liquid nitrogen. When the Lizard regenerates these fingers on his right hand he only regenerates four fingers not five, but if you view his other hand it regenerates a full five fingers as normal. Aside from the fact that most reptiles have five toes anyhow, so why would he regenerate only four and only on one hand?

Correction: This is not just the final scene. During the entire film, the Lizard only has 4 fingers on his right hand and 5 fingers on his left. It was just a style choice of the film makers. The right arm/hand is the one Connors regrew, and on the bridge, as he fully transforms, you see his hand only has 4 fingers now. Even when you buy The Amazing Spider-Man Lizard gloves, the right glove only has 4 fingers.

Tsunkatse - S6-E15

Corrected entry: Within the first 15 seconds as the camera pans the crowd before the Tsunkatse match, we see a good 30 or so federation crew members. Impossible seeing as they have not come across this event before, and the only Starfleet crew in the Delta quadrant are on Voyager. (00:00:15 - 00:01:00)

Correction: The federation people you see in the stands are crew members of Voyager, not random Alpha quadrant federation members.

Bishop73

Additionally, if they were regular Starfleet members from the Alpha Quadrant, they'd be wearing the newer, black/grey uniforms with a coloured undershirt, rather than the brighter uniforms still in use on Voyager.

The Conjuring (2013)

Corrected entry: When Ed Warren and Roger and Carolyn Perron are discussing leaving the house, Mr. Perron says, "I don't know anyone who's gonna take in a family of seven indefinitely." In the movie, there are only four daughters, making the Perron family a family of six, not seven. (00:49:10)

Lindsey Ben

Correction: The Perrons have 5 daughters; Andrea, Nancy, Christine, Cindy, and April.

Knight Rider (1982)

Let It Be Me - S2-E23

Corrected entry: When Michael first meets Lisa, she remembers him from a long time ago. This episode neglects the pilot, where plastic surgery made him a new man with a new face. (00:05:00)

Correction: Either you're talking about a different episode or you got the name wrong. There is no "Lisa" in the episode. However, there is a "Stevie" who recognized Michael Knight right away because Michael Long (his name before the plastic surgery) was her fiancee. Which would be a mistake except that Michael Knight had already helped Stevie (Stephanie Mason) earlier in season 1 and thus Stevie is aware of Michael Long's facial and name change.

Bishop73

Revealing mistake: At the end, there is a group of people with their backs to the camera, facing & waving to the Fantastic 4. As the F4 fly towards the camera and out of the shot, the crowd turns to continue waving to them. One small boy in white remains facing the wrong way, still waving, until another child grabs the back of his clothes & turns him to face the right way.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: Not necessarily a mistake. Little kids can have a hard time keeping track of/focusing on things. I know little kids that have a hard time looking in the direction of the camera when their picture is being taken.

Phaneron

There's a difference between not looking at a camera when you don't care about having your picture taken and being able to follow superheroes that pass you, especially if you're waving at them. The reason it's a revealing mistake is because everyone involved had to pretend superheroes were passing them and the kid didn't know when to turn.

Bishop73

Corrected entry: Banshee shouldn't be able to fly, or even glide, while he carries Havok off the battleship.

Correction: What evidence is there that he can't? Part of his mutant ability is the power to fly/glide while carrying one passenger.

Bishop73

Flight is not his inherent power. He can achieve flight using his sonic powers in conjunction with the "wings" in his suit, but he needs both hands/wings to fly. Havok should have jumped on Banshee's back instead of dangling by the hand, effectively disabling one of the wings.

I never said flight was one of his inherent abilities. He doesn't need both hands to fly, all he needs to do is catch supersonic sound waves at the correct angle, and he has the ability to do this while carrying one passenger.

Elogium - S2-E4

Plot hole: In this episode Kes states that she has to decide now whether to have a child or not because Ocampa women can only get pregnant once and deliver one child. If that was the case they would have died out a long time ago, or never even evolved, as two people only getting one offspring would reduce the population to 50% of the original figure each generation.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: It's also possible that it's simply required of Ocampan women to give birth the first time they go through it, and can then experience it again.

Greg Dwyer

Nothing in the dialogue suggest Ocampa's can have additional children. While we can speculate about fictitious species, it's still a plot hole due to writing. Kes states she's going through the "elogium" which is a time of change where her body prepares for fertilization. She then explicit states the "elogium" only occurs once. While the doctor compares it to puberty, the elogium is both sexual maturity and "heat", that is, the time a female is ready for fertilization.

Bishop73

But it doesn't ever state the normalcy of birthing for Ocompans. Perhaps sextuplets is the norm?

Kes frequently used the word "child." If it was normal to give birth to more than one, she would know this and should say "children."

Bishop73

Do not forget that this is all done through the universal translator. For all you know the Ocompan word for child and children is the same so the translator cannot tell the difference.

Corrected entry: The whole day's time sequence is terribly out of whack. For instance, when Rooney is wiping his face off after being spat on by the "Karate Champ" girl in the pizza joint, Ferris catches a fly ball. Harry Caray's play-by-play call can be heard in the background. He's calls the name "Lee Smith," indicating Lee Smith was on the mound for the Cubs. Lee Smith was a closer and likely would not be in the game until the 9th inning. Most day games at Wrigley start at 1:20 and last at least 2 hours. Therefore, the time would be about 3:30 PM when Ferris caught the fly ball. After that, he had time to make it back down to the Loop for a parade (presumably by elevated train), pick up the car, get back up to the North Shore (probably a decent 30 minute ride) take a dip in the pool, save Cameron's life, and race home to be in bed by the time his parent arrived home (6:00 sharp if you'll recall the father's lines at the beginning.) That's bad continuity. Aside from that, prior to the game, they dined at Chez Quis and went to the Museum (South Loop area).

Correction: While the ballgame used in the film was real, it wasn't meant to represent a real game, it's still a fictional ballgame that was being played for the first time. So Smith could have been in early. Pointing this out as a mistake would be like pointing out that Abe Froman never had reservations at Chez Quis that day.

Bishop73

Correction: Actually, the game was intended to be the June 5, 1985 game between Chicago and Atlanta, which started at 1:25pm, ran 3 hours and 9 minutes and ended at 4:34pm in a 4-2, 11-inning loss by the Cubs. Smith closed the game. All of which makes the timeline even more crazy - between 4:35 and 5:55 (just under 90 minutes) they caught a Red Line train downtown (the ride alone would have eaten up 20 minutes, minimum), then walked to the AI at Michigan Avenue, walked around, then picked up the car and started heading north (again, a 30 minute drive from downtown, more in rush hour, and they would have been driving in rush hour), stopping for at least one detour along the way.

Hart of Dixie (2011)

Rocky V (1990)

Corrected entry: During the scene on Christmas day right before Rocky's son, Robert, storms out the door- Rocky is explaining to him how important it is to be with one's family during the holidays. Rocky asks Robert if he remembers last year and all the fun they had. This film occurs immediately after "Rocky IV" (1986) and Rocky's bout with Drago. Therefore, "last year" Rocky was in Russia training to fight Drago for their Christmas Day boxing match. He spent most of the winter in Russia for training, so when did all this fun holiday activity happen that Robert is supposed to remember from "last year"?

Correction: In the press conference, the kid looks exactly the same as he does throughout the whole movie. He has not aged at all from the press conference, to the end of the movie. where did you get this info that there was the gap, it doesn't say that in the movie at all.

Correction: Not quite true. There is a five year gap between the beginning of Rocky V (the aftermath of Rocky IV) and when Rocky hits finiancial peril. Remember, his son was 7 in Rocky IV and is now 12 in Rocky V. Therefore, "last year" must have been a great time in the mansion, when his son was 11.

There is only a 5 year gap between the release of the films. Rocky V is set shortly after Rocky IV and this is a valid mistake. Shortly after the fight with Ivan, Rocky returns home. Upon returning home, Duke wants Rocky to fight Cane. They didn't spend 5 years in Russia, nor does Duke wait 5 years to capitalize on Rocky's victory over Ivan. In regards to Rocky's financial perils; before Rocky left for Russia, his power of attorney was signed over to his accountant. While Rocky was away, his accountant squandered his money on bad investments. On top of that, the accountant had failed to pay taxes the previous six years (i.e. the 6 years before the fight with Ivan, not 6 years after the fight). So shortly after returning home, Rocky basically finds out he's broke and owes money and that's the motivation to fight. The following Christmas would be a year after the Christmas in Rocky IV.

How Trina Got In - S3-E11

Corrected entry: Robbie and Tori are at Nozu and are asked to call their friends to bring them money to pay for their food. Tori says that she left her phone in her backpack at school but she posts tweets about her being stuck at Nozu. (00:11:00 - 00:17:00)

Correction: If you read the tweet, Tori says she's using the computer at Nozu. Tori isn't using her phone to tweet.

Correction: Tori says in the tweet she's using Nozu's computer.

Blake's 7 (1978)

Hostage - S2-E8

Other mistake: When Jenna teleports down near the end of the episode, she takes 3 bracelets with her. When they all teleport back up to the ship she still has all 3 bracelets on. Therefore Vila and Avon should not have been teleported up.

Suggested correction: Jenna has 5 bracelets with her, she's wearing 3 and 2 are in her hands. She gives the ones she's holding to Vila and Avon. However, Ushton and Inga decided to stay and not transport back, therefore, she kept the extra 2 bracelets on her wrist.

Monk (2002)

Mr. Monk Makes A Friend - S5-E11

Continuity mistake: Monk leaves his front door standing open in anticipation of his new friend's arrival. No one goes near the front hall, but when Hal gets there, he lets himself in by opening a door that has somehow closed itself. (00:10:30 - 00:11:50)

Correction: Mistakes like these have already been entered and corrected. The holodeck uses transporter technology with replicators to generating actual matter in some instances, as well as projecting force fields to give the objects the illusion of substance. It's most likely food that is eaten in the holodeck is replicated matter and in this case, the water was also replicated matter and thus physically real, even after leaving the holodeck.

Character mistake: During "The Bare Necessities", when Mowgli climbs onto his back, Baloo asks him to scratch his left shoulder; Mowgli then proceeds to scratch Baloo's right shoulder.

Suggested correction: Mowgli starts with the left shoulder. After that he moves over the back when Baloo arches and ends up on the right shoulder.

Bishop73

Suggested correction: Mowgli has lived with wolves for God knows how long. Wolves wouldn't just teach him the difference between left and right when they could teach him how to feed himself. For this reason, Mowgli could get it wrong. Also, the bear could've muddled up his words without realizing as, again, it isn't necessary to know left and right.

Merlin (2008)

The Wicked Day - S4-E3

Visible crew/equipment: When Arthur goes to Dragoon to ask for help, when Dragoon runs out of the hut to turn back into Merlin, on the left hand side of the screen you can see a camera crew in modern clothes. [Fixed in Netflix version]. (00:23:00)

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: When he exits the hut Arthur's and Merlin's horses are on the left partially obscured by the brush making what they are a little difficult to see and could have been mistaken for a camera crew dressed in dark clothing.

jimba

Suggested correction: I don't see any crew. I'm watching it on Netflix. Perhaps they fixed or perhaps they edited it out after realizing the mistake. But they aren't there anymore.

Even if Netflix corrected the mistake doesn't mean the mistake is now invalid if the mistake existed in the original BBC One airing. Netflix is known to change or edit programs they stream (such as replacing soundtrack songs).
