Continuity mistake: In chapter XII "The Tet Breaks", it states that when seeing Eddie's terrible head-wound, Susannah "leaped to her feet and began to scream again." The character of Susannah Dean is missing her lower legs, so there would be no feet to leap to.
Plot hole: In the Book "Debt of Honour", Clarke and Chavez use a specially modified flashgun that stuns without killing. Why is this piece of technology not available for their team in Rainbow Six?
Factual error: When the Australian astronaut is describing the Battle of Dehli, he says "Just like the limeys used to do in the colonial days." Limeys is just an American term. In Australia, Englishmen are referred to as pommies.
Other mistake: E-mails between Salander and Blomvkist on pages 311 and 312 (2009 MacLehose Press hardback) are repeated word for word on pages 370, 371.
Continuity mistake: About halfway through chapter 12, when they are walking back up the lane after Grimma attacked the fox, Sacco says a couple of sentences - Sacco is at the quarry.
Factual error: In Chapter 14, Cato is being awarded a grass crown for saving his centurion and the standard of his company. The grass crown was only given to generals or other higher officers, for rescuing an entire legion or army, and it had to be acclaimed by the entire legion he rescued. As an optio, Cato would be ineligible for a grass crown, his actions would not qualify for it, and he is said to be unpopular with his company, so a unanimous vote is highly unlikely.
Factual error: During the murder trial in part three, when a prosecution witness of Yuki's is called back to testify for the defense, he is sworn in. But having already testified, he wouldn't have to be sworn in a second time; the presiding judge could simply remind him that he is still under oath.
Continuity mistake: When the Kingdom Keepers are inside the It's A Small World attraction, and the puppets come to life, the book states that a doll locked onto Finn's arm, chomping down hard enough to draw blood. However, at the girl scout car wash, Finn shows Amanda his bite marks by lifting up the leg on his shorts.
Continuity mistake: In chapter 16, Shardlake takes the alchemy books out of his satchel along with the bottle and places them on the table. A few paragraphs later, he once again takes them out of his satchel and lays them on the table.
Other mistake: In the Freddie Fear comic near the end, all of the speech bubbles in the last page of the story are missing, even though it's obvious that people are talking.
Continuity mistake: When Aravis and the Horses are at the Hermit's and Shasta is at Anvard, the three decide it is time to resume their journey to Narnia. Aravis says, "We must see Shasta first and say good-bye to him - and - and apologize." At this point they do know he is the king of Archenland's son and will be staying in Anvard. That is revealed later to them in the chapter. She should have said, "We need to go to Anvard and get Shasta and then go to Narnia."
Continuity mistake: After the "adventure in acceleration" at Adrian, the Hail Mary is effectively upside down (Ch. 20). Then Grace gets "sick of living in the Poseidon Adventure" and rights it-meaning the storage area is at the bottom again. He goes in there to fix a leak, then "climb[s] back down and wince[s] the whole time." He should be climbing up or out, not down. Also, in Ch. 22, when Grace is in there again (finding Taumoeba poo), "Rocky calls out from below"-but Rocky should be above him, not below.
Plot hole: In the 8th Wizard Of Oz book titled Tik-Tok Of Oz, the group runs into Polychrome, the rainbow's daughter. Polychrome and Shaggy Man first met up in book #5 titled The Road To Oz. However in this book, Shaggy Man and Polychrome act as if it is the 1st time they ever met each other. They make no mention of them meeting before in the prior book.
Factual error: The book mentions Bilbo's sword as being originally made as a dagger for an elf. The problem is, proportional to the wearer, that doesn't work, weapons and tools have to be made with the user's exact size always in mind. The blade or handle would be too thick, or something else would be off. I know this from trying to use a figurine sword to open envelopes.
Suggested correction: The origins of Sting are largely unknown. Even though it was made by elves doesn't mean that it was meant for elves. The book doesn't say it was a dagger for elves, just the size was comparable to one. It's only said that it was very small for Elf standards and that means it has a small handle perfect for a Hobbit hand.
Factual error: In chapter 8, Barbara is thinking about bullfighting, and how she had seen the horses being disembowelled by the bulls. But Barbara didn't arrive in Spain until 1936, and since 1928 horses used in bullfighting have been legally required to wear protective padding that prevents them from being injured by the horns (so the horses can be reused in other corridas).
Other mistake: On page eleven, the book says that Charmander reunited with Ash from time to time, but this did not happen as no reunions occurred during this time according to the Pokémon television series.
Other mistake: On page 197 the author writes "Margaret opened her eyes to sickly dawn...the clock read 6:45 p.m.". PM would be sunset, not dawn.
Other mistake: On page eleven, the book states that Charmander had reunions with Ash which is false, as no reunions happened during this time according to the Pokémon animated series.
Other mistake: On page 170, when Quentin is at breakfast and Poppy joins them and we learn she's from Australia the text reads "if that was true he could why see Poppy had gotten the hell out." It should say "see why."
Continuity mistake: In the epilogue, when Chad is speaking in court, Sharon's attorney says that Ann's mother died "'last year'". During the flashback in chapter three, when the group is at the river before hiking to the cliff, Ann's mother is described as having died "a couple of years" ago.
