Dick York played Darrin Stephens from 1964 till '69, when he left under supposed false pretenses, including those stemming from his addiction to painkillers (for his chronic back pain), there may have been other reasons for his leaving or possible dismissal. Dick Sargent took over the role in '69, and played Darrin until the show ended in 1972.
Since the filming crew had to float objects around the set, they spray-painted the wires to make them less visible.
The original script title for Bewitched was "The Witch of Westport."
Elizabeth Montgomery (Samantha) was actually able to twitch her nose, to move her nose back and forth. Many believe that the editors sped up the film to enhance her twitch.
The Screen Gems sets of Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie were right next to each other at the studio, and many of the actual sets and props were shared between the two shows. Both shows also shared Dick Albain, the Special Effects expert, who worked on the two shows for quite awhile.
The way Darrin felt about Samantha's witchcraft was entirely different from what Dick York thought. In real life Dick York expressed that Samantha should have said, "Lay off, or I'll zap you one."
Elizabeth Montgomery herself chose the name 'Tabitha' for the name of her TV daughter; actor Edward Andrews had a daughter with that name and Elizabeth liked the 'old fashioned' way it sounded. But at first the name was spelled 'Tabatha' in the credits and Elizabeth disliked it.

The day this episode aired, March 3, 1966, Alice Pearce (the first Mrs. Kravitz) passed away. The episode was interrupted to announce her passing.
Birdies, Bogies, and Baxter (series 4)
Macdonald Carey, who played Baxter, was on the soap opera "Days Of Our Lives" from 1965 until he passed away in 1994. He provided the famous "Like sands through the hourglass" opening narration.
Samantha the Sculptress (series 5)
The bust of David White from this episode can be seen at Hollywood Forever cemetery; it is in a memorial niche which also contains the ashes of White and his son Jonathan.
Samantha Fights City Hall (series 5)
Because Erin Murphy, who played Tabitha, was ill, her fraternal twin sister Diane took her place in this episode. By this time, Erin and Diane didn't resemble each other as much as they once did, and it was obvious to regular viewers of the show that it wasn't the Tabitha they were used to seeing. The producers received several letters asking "Who was that?"
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall (series 5)
The angry driver behind Darrin who yells "Let's go, Gorgeous!" is producer William Asher who was married to Elizabeth Montgomery at the time.
Super Arthur (series 6)
When Uncle Arthur loses his powers,Samantha offers to teach him how to drive. This is a reversal of the season 1 episode, "Red Light, Green Light", where Paul Lynde - playing a driving instructor before he was later cast as Uncle Arthur - tried to teach Samantha how to drive.
A Bunny for Tabitha (series 6)
The little girl who is punched by a young Danny Bonaduce at Tabitha's party is Erin Murphy's twin sister Diane, decked out in a brown wig to mask her resemblance to her sister.
Samantha's Curious Cravings (series 6)
Look at the graffiti next to the pay phone when Samantha is calling Darrin. There's a heart with "BA + EM" written inside it. The initials stand for Bill Asher and Elizabeth Montgomery, who were married at the time.
