Sex and the City

Let there be light - S6-E13

Trivia: When Carrie comes downstairs at Aleksandr's, she finds his entire staff busy at work. These actors are speaking Hindi, Japanese, and French, individually. They are also fluent in these languages. A 5-page monologue had to be written for each actor, and translated for this scene. (00:13:15)

I heart ny - S4-E18

Trivia: In this scene when Carrie is walking out of Mr. Big's apartment, all of the autumn leaves were tinted, and not real. Everything was very green when they were actually filming. (00:29:30)

Let there be light - S6-E13

Trivia: According to the commentary, there are a lot of mirror reflections used in this episode. Mirrors become elevator doors, hallways, etc. They were all about reflecting back where each of the girls are, at this point in their lives. (00:20:25)

Boy, interrupted - S6-E10

Trivia: When Jeremy comes to visit Carrie at her apartment, he is wearing a white polo style Lacoste Izod shirt. There is a noticeable rip or small hole in the upper shoulder of the shirt, visible on screen. This was intentional by the wardrobe department. They wanted to show that despite Jeremy being an older, Ivy League kind of guy, he came back still dressed similar to how Carrie would have seen him in high school. (00:19:00)

To market, to market - S6-E1

Trivia: This traffic jam scene was filmed in the 23rd and 5th avenue area of NYC. The City allowed the show to have the entire city block/area roped off, in order to create a realistic traffic jam. While they were filming this scene, Sex and the city 'owned' the whole block. (00:01:40)

The good fight - S4-E13

Trivia: This dog 'Pete' is not the original Pete dog, he is a replacement. The first dog was too scared being around John Corbett, so they had to replace him with a 'stunt' Pete dog. (00:02:00)

All or nothing - S3-E10

Trivia: When Carrie is seeing Aiden off to PA, she says in voiceover, "Until the morning". The scene is set to be in the early morning, during sunrise. But it was actually filmed at sunset, at the end of the day, because they ran out of time. They added the birds chirping to make it seem like morning. (00:05:50)

Plus one is the loneliest number - S5-E5

Trivia: The coffee shop is a set; it doesn't exist in reality. They had to find continual ways to make the light come from other sources than the street, because they rarely filmed the street from inside the set. (00:08:00)

Don't ask, don't tell - S3-E12

Trivia: During the scenes when the girls are trying on their bridesmaid dresses, they were actually filmed in the real Vera Wang dress shop. (00:05:00)

I love a charade - S5-E8

Trivia: Carrie is wearing a necklace that is filled with broken glass in this scene. According to the commentary, it's meant to symbolize the episode theme of 'people living in glass houses'. (00:13:35)

To market, to market - S6-E1

Trivia: During the scene where Carrie is having her 'simu-date', a bird lands on the head of her date. There was actually a 'bridge' built out of bobby pins on the actor's head, to create a landing platform for the bird. (00:18:00)

Trivia: Over the years several actors appear twice in the series as separate characters. 1) Justin Theroux appears in S01E07 "The monogamists" as Jared and S02E15 "Shortcomings" as Vaughn Wysel. 2) Anne Lange appears as Gretchen in S01E10 "The baby shower" and as Dr G in S02E13 "Games people play". 3) Chris Payne Gilbert appears as "Big Tool 4 U" in S02E12 "La Douleur Exquise" and Gordon in S04E14 "All that glitters." 4) James McCaffrey appears in S01E07 "The monogamists" as Max and S04E02 "The real me" as Paul Denai.

To market, to market - S6-E1

Plot hole: In this episode Carrie runs into Aidan, who now has what looks to be about a 6 month old baby (Tate). This doesn't seem possible, as Carrie and Aidan would have only broken up about a year ago, and Miranda was around 6 months pregnant when they broke up. Brady is only about 5 months old at this point in the series, leaving Aidan only roughly 8 months to have this baby - but Aidan lay in bed for about a month and then dated Nina Katz for awhile. Timeline just doesn't seem to fit.

Twenty-something girls vs. thirty-something women - S2-E17

Question: I have a somewhat odd question for everyone that watches Sex and the city. I got into the show about 2 or 3 years after it started running but I remember watching the episode "Twenty-Something Girls vs. Thirty-Something Women" which was the episode about Carrie and the girls going to the Hamptons and renting a house. Charlotte dates a younger guy that gives her crabs. There is commentary about comparing 20 year girls to 30 year old women and when I watched this episode originally I swear there was a different ending then what is what is shown now. I want to know if anyone else has seen this or am I absolutely insane. In the episode there is a girl that pukes on the beach - her friend holds her hair back and Carrie makes a commentary about "counting on 20 year old girls to hold your hair back." Later when Carrie sees Big with Natasha she runs to the beach and Miranda runs after her. Carrie throws up because she is upset and Miranda holds her hair back, but the version I saw changes the commentary/narration and says that you can "always count on a 30 something year old friend to hold your hair back." I haven't seen that version again. Has anyone else seen it or did I just dream this, because I swear I remember watching this when it first came out?

Answer: I'm a long-time fan of the show, having re-watched it many times, and I definitely remember slightly different dialogue at the end of that episode than what's on my DVD. I'm afraid I have no idea why this change might have been made or any other info, but you're not insane.
