Question: What is the gender of the giant dragon? Astrid refers to it as the Queen, but Hiccup calls it a he and him several times in their battle with it. The movie is not clear if the dragon is male or female, and the sites I searched about it were just as cryptic. So what is the gender of the giant dragon?

Question: Why was Eggman controlling the moon in order to con people into buying the sunshine balls he invented? Was he doing it to get rich?
Answer: No, he doesn't need the money. He was doing it to try to paint himself as the hero. Make it look like only he could save the the light and painting Sonic as a villain for destroying it.
So what if Eggman doesn't need the money. There are tons of people who don't need more, but still try to get richer.

Die Hard (1988)
Question: The armoured vehicle that gets sent in when the SWAT team are struggling to get in, before they're even attacked...what's that meant to actually achieve? If it's just meant to smash the doors, the men with guns could do that. And if not...will it just sit there?
Answer: I believe it is supposed to be that it was a precautionary measure and probably standard operating procedure to have it on site when dealing with a terrorist situation. To have it at the ready for if they needed it. Not only this, but a large armored vehicle like that could serve as physiological warfare to make the terrorist more fearful merely by it just being there. A show of strength. As for using it on the door, yes, guys with guns can smash those doors. But guys with guns are still targets to be shot at especially though glass doors. The armored vehicle can smash through it and get the men inside without exposing them to small arms fire.
But why send the armoured car into the lobby before being attacked? And why send it in in the first place? Once it's in the lobby it becomes a sitting duck. Easy pickings for when the occupants decide to disembark.
In some cases, maybe. But the vehicle itself still provides cover for the men in it. They usually would exit from the back or the top, and have that as something to hide against or shoot from. Also, most armored SWAT vehicles like that usually have a very high powered water cannon on the top that has the pressure of a fire truck. This can quickly subdue any hostile forces and knock their defenses down, giving the SWAT ample time to make their move while the enemy is still recovering. Not only this, but the vehicle can have inside more equipment the SWAT members can use, like throwing out smoke and flash bang grenades, or have riot shields as the exit. But this at least gets them inside and up where they can do good. If they tried to walk up to the door without cover, they would be easy pickings from small arms fire and snipers.
Good answer. I would add that presumably, the SWAT vehicle could be put in reverse, and once the front entrance was breached, it would back up. Also, this being a movie, it's shown that the overall police and F.B.I. response is supposed to be somewhat bungled, with different egotistical characters vying for control. Plot wise, it shows how well armed the "terrorists" are supposed to be by blowing up the SWAT vehicle with a missile, and how they anticipate and outsmart the police's every move. This is not reality.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
Question: This has always been a question between my friend and I. Why does the T-800 take the sunglasses in the movie?In the first movie it made sense, to hide the glowing eye. Here it appears to serve no purpose beyond appearance. Is there any other reason beyond this?
Answer: The real life answer is because the sunglasses are part of the Terminator's signature look. The in universe answer is because they are a clothing item that will augment his appearance. He also takes a leather jacket he doesn't need. He would look perfectly normal with just the gray T-shirt but since the biker was also wearing the jacket, he took that as well.
Answer: By best guess, I believe it is because of the glow in the eyes. The mechanical eyes, as seen when the skin is gone, are glowing red lights and they aren't exactly dim. This could potentially shine through skin, or eye tissue, like when you hold a flashlight against your hand. In a dim lighting, like at night, it could be possible to see the glow of these mechanical parts behind the already thin tissue of the organic parts of the eye, and thus give him away.
That would make them very poor infiltration units, wouldn't it?

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)
Question: When Jar Jar is used as a patsy to suggest granting Palpatine emergency powers, why does Palpatine immediately accept the proposal and order the creation of the army? Isn't the Senate supposed to vote on the proposition first? It's not much of a democracy if one Senator's proxy can just unilaterally grant the Supreme Chancellor emergency powers.
Answer: They did have an immediate vote, the means of which we don't see. It would seem that the floating platforms in which each delegation sits has a device that allows for voting. Even if that isn't the case, Palpatine could read the room and recognized that nearly everyone was cheering after the motion, so it was clear the motion would pass.
Answer: From what I understand, but I could be wrong, the Senate as a whole was already pretty much willing to grant Palpatine these powers as it was. But as was so eloquently put in front of Binks, "But what senator would have the courage to propose such a radical amendment?" Followed up by "If only Senator Amidala were here." Given the context of this, I gather that, like I said, the Senate was already poised to grant these powers to him, but nobody was brave enough to be the one to risk their career to speak up and officially suggest, or request this. Thus, when Binks was manipulated into doing so, everybody was set to just go with it and be relieved they didn't have to suggest it. I could be completely wrong on this, but this is how I interpret it.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
Question: Why does Darth Maul just stand there and watch Obi-Wan flip over him and then bisect him? As a Sith, Maul had plenty of time to react to what Obi-Wan was doing, and his training means he shouldn't have been surprised by it either.
Answer: It was meant to be very fast. It couldn't be so fast that the audience would have no idea what was happening, so we wind up with an awkward scene where Darth Maul literally watches Obi-Wan flip over his head. He never even notices that Obi-Wan has Qui-Gonn's lightsaber. He seems quite shocked that Obi-Wan was even able to get above him at all.
Answer: In the book, The Life and Legacy of Obi-wan Kenobi, it actually talks about this a little bit. Darth Maul wasn't expecting this move, and it caught him by surprise. Obi-wan was hanging on for life down below, and to Maul's mind there wasn't a way he could really get back up, much less armed. One thing to consider is the fact that Darth Maul is actually pretty weak in using the Force compared to most other notable Force users. He's mostly a martial artists, and a damn good one to, having extraordinary combat ability to the point he can fend off a Jedi Knight and a Padawan at at the same time. But his actual strength in the force is weak, where he's only able to lift/push small objects or do a Force jump. He didn't predict, or "foresee" Obi-wan's move. Nor could he sense that Obi-wan was moving the light saber on the ground next to him, and would never have guessed that not only Obi-wan would Force jump out like that so suddenly, but also grab a saber at the same time and go for a swing.
I remember at least two books - which may not be canon now - describing Maul as prideful. It seems like he was quite skilled in fighting, as you say, but he underestimated opponents.
Answer: I always saw it as Maul didn't realise Kenobi was going for the lightsaber at the same time and the whole move was suicidal from Maul's point of view. His lack of reaction is him being stunned by what he sees as Obi-Wan just jumping in front of him to be attacked.

Answer: Well he had just caught him in the wild. Didn't even catch him with a traditional poke ball but like tied him up with a rope. So I would imagine so, yes.

Sorry, I misread the question. I thought you were asking "DOES" he dislike Ash, not Why. It's been a while since I've seen the full episode. But from what I recall, Pikachu was wild, and Ash caught him through unconventional means without a pokeball. Tying him up with rope and stuff. So that's a good reason for any animal to not like someone when forced into a captive state in such a way.
That doesn't answer my question.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Question: Why didn't Bail Organa have R2-D2's memory wiped?
Answer: R2-D2 isn't known for being a loud mouth like C-3P0 is. 3P0 is very likely to spit out valuable information or information about the Skywalker twins being born because that's just how he is. There isn't that danger with R2. Also R2 is an astromech mechanic. Most wouldn't think of him holding information like a protocol droid would.
Answer: R2-D2 is better capable of not revealing any secret information.
Answer: This is because only C3PO knows the identity of Leia and Luke, since he was around Anakin and Padme whilst pregnant, and thus most likely knows it's a twin and the identity of the father, whilst R2D2 doesn't.
C-3PO could have easily told R2-D2 about Luke and Leia while thinking that he wouldn't say anything. I wouldn't say that R2-D2 was a blabbermouth but he did accidentally tell Luke about the private message for Obi-Wan in ANH.

Alien 3 (1992)
Question: When the Xenomorph is mere inches from Ripley, how was it able to know there was a queen inside of her?
Answer: Most likely by smell or other sensory perception. We already know that the aliens inside the hosts adapt and take on DNA and characteristics from them, like most being humanoid from the humans or the one in Alien 3 being more canine since it came from a dog. It's likely that the creatures inside also alter the host's body chemically to better suit their growth in such a short amount of time. This would also be necessary in other situations where the aliens are catching humans or the humans are being exposed to eggs, and the aliens wouldn't kill them or take them again knowing they already have a young one inside them. Now in Alien 3, it's not necessarily the case that the alien knew that it was actually a Queen inside Ripley, but at the very least, it knew one of its own kind was already inside her and knew not to harm her.

Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Question: Did it actually have to be Tony that had to snap Thanos and his army? What difference would it have made if somebody like Clint or even Peter Quill snapped them? As long as Thanos and his army were destroyed the world was safe.
Answer: Yes. It HAD to be Tony. Strange said there was only ONE timeline where they succeeded. Also, Tony's armor provided some level of protection, letting him live long enough to snap. Most others, besides Hulk, would've died just by putting the gauntlet on. But, Strange foresaw this. He SAW this one reality where our heroes win. He SAW Tony die. It's also why he pointed and nodded at Tony. There were probably other timelines where someone else got the gauntlet but couldn't survive long enough to perform a snap. Clint would've died without armor, and Peter no longer had his Celestial powers after Ego died, so Peter would've died too.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
Question: 1. Why was Dyson holding the detonator in that way where dropping his hand would set off the bomb? Did he willingly set it off, or was he stuck in a position where he couldn't avoid it? 2. Was there any reason only one terminator was sent back to kill John? Wouldn't multiple terminators increase the chance of success, considering the last one failed to kill Sarah?
Answer: For your first question. Dyson was dying, no way to stop that. He was holding the detonator like that as a literal "dead man's switch". He needed the swat team to get close enough before he would die and drop his arm or warn them to get away, showing the urgency of the situation. One look at him and the lead guy knew they had to run, allowing the others more time to get away. He sacrificed himself to buy more time. For Question 2. It's been stated several times that the terminator was sent back in both T1 and T2 as the last resort as Skynet was being destroyed and taken over. The Humans were at the gate and the time machine was still experimental and new. Had Skynet had more time to do it, sure, they would likely have sent an army back. However only one could go in at a time and the Humans got there just in time to stop Skynet and send one of their own back in time after the single terminator.
Answer: 1) Dyson's plan was to blow up the Cyberdyne office, but didn't want to cause any casualties in the SWAT team. He held an object above the detonator as to allow them time to escape, so that when he died he would drop it onto the detonator, the office would get blown up but no innocent people got hurt. He likely knew he wasn't going to get out alive, but made sure none of the data in the office was going to stay behind. 2) One of the most important things for a Terminator to do is to blend in with the public to prevent any suspicion from being drawn to it and prevent people from finding out about Skynet's existence. Had Skynet sent back multiple Terminators all trying to kill John Connor at once, far more suspicion would be drawn to them. It'd be much easier for them to send back one Terminator because that would be a better way of blending in with its surroundings.

Question: When Jimmy is giving Clark the cake, Mr. White says "where are the photos of that birthday clown massacre thing?" Is this suppose to be a nod to The Joker? I didn't think any of Joker's origin stories had him as an actual birthday clown that killed people until this recent Joker film.
Answer: I don't believe it is. This is a half reboot sequel to the classic Superman 2 movies and other than being a DC character, has no ties to other properties of the DC comic lore. This is more likely just meant to be something funny they could have Parry White say to get a laugh about him bringing up something random and ridiculous meant to be taken seriously.

Power Rangers (2017)
Question: So does Rita Repulsa die when she goes into space? It seems unlikely she could survive mainly without oxygen.
Answer: No, she's not dead. This show seems to be following similarly to the original TV show. In the show, she was in a stasis like state trapped in a "trash can" on the moon. After she escapes this prison, she sets up her evil base with Lord Zed on the moon and continues to attack Angel Grove and the Rangers from the Moon. So her being blasted towards the Moon at the end of this reboot is a set up for her establishing a similar base of operations like in the show in the sequels. If the sequels ever get out of development hell.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga
Question: Does anyone have a clue why Anakin Skywalker from The Phantom Menace was given a normal sized body instead of a shorter one like other smaller characters in the game?
Answer: Originally they were not. The earliest Lego Star Wars sets had normal sized legs.
Answer: Because they are Lego. Most Lego men regardless of age or species are the exact same size.
Characters who are significantly smaller/shorter (typically young children) are usually depicted with shorter legs in Lego games, those type of legs which aren't rotatable and doesn't have holes in them (excluding the bottom of their feet). Yoda and Boba Fett (From Attack of the Clones), on the other hand, has those type of legs in the game.
At the time of Phantom Menace, Lego did not have those short legs. By the time Attack of the Clones was released, they had developed them. The use of long legs for Anakin is accurate.

Question: How did Alec survive being shot at the start only to return later in the film. It's something that I can't figure out, as James saw him get shot.
Chosen answer: The real answer, which I believe was explained better in the game or in special features. Regardless, I did hear, is that Ourumov wasn't aiming directly at Alec's head, but to the side and shot the ground behind him. But made it look like he shot him in the head. Alec would have felt the bullet whiz by him.
Answer: He was shot with a blank cartridge. What that means is that the casing in the gun chamber didn't contain a live bullet; instead of killing him, the gun simply gave off a realistic flash that tricked Bond into thinking Alec had been shot. As explained later in the film, Alec's death was staged between himself and Ourumov.
Ourumov shot Alec and the Russian soldier with the same gun but, only the soldier was actually killed.
But that doesn't work, because even blanks can be deadly at close range.

Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)
Question: Do they ever say why Mysterio's doing all of this? Perhaps revenge on Stark, making himself into a hero? What's his reason for causing all this chaos?
Answer: That pretty much sums it up yeah. He wants credit for his work. He felt cheated by Stark that he wasn't given credit for his invention that Stark so lovingly called B.A.R.F. Stark was Iron Man and a world renowned hero, savior of the world multiple times... even literally saving half of the entire universe from Thanos. Quentin Beck wanted to upstage him or make himself into a hero, but had no real ability to do so. So he manufactured conflicts with illusions and special effects to make the world appear to be in peril with a problem that only he could solve. This would allow him to swoop in, appear to save the day and be the only one that could have done it, and have the world praise him the way they did Stark. He's motivated by vanity, jealousy, and a desire for a passive aggressive revenge on Stark.

Question: How was Billy considered "worthy" to begin with? When we first meet him, he is petulant, selfish, and cruel to anyone that wants to help him. Once he does get the power of Shazam, he becomes even more selfish, petty, and reckless.
Answer: He went out of his way to protect his new foster brother, who's disabled mind you, when he was being picked on by the Steven King novel bullies. He showed he had some virtue. And, on top of that, his other behavior, like stealing the police car, while bad, did have a noble reason behind it of him trying to find his mother. So he wasn't perfect, but he had some virtue. And, as the old wizard said, he was out of time and Billy was his last choice.
Answer: In addition to the other answer, it's also a pretty common trope in films, stories, etc. for a character who is imperfect to be considered "worthy" or "pure of heart" not because of their actions but because of their potential to learn from their mistakes and do great things when given power. Billy is actually a pretty good example of this - he's brash and a bit selfish, but ultimately proves to be a capable hero by learning from his mistakes and growing as a person, thus ultimately becoming worthy of the power.

Well this was answered in the second film by Hiccup's mother. "Every nest has its Queen... but this is their king!" when she refers to the Alpha, which is a bigger and different dragon than the one in the first film. In this context, the dragon in Part 1 is a Queen, therefore female.
