Corrected entry: The Wizard of Oz and Return to Oz hold the Guinness World Record for the longest amount of time between a movie and its sequel.
Corrected entry: Nurse Wilson puts Dorothy into a room with a bed. After she says "You may have a nap if you wish," she leaves. Dorothy looks around the room for a while and when Dorothy looks out the door, Nurse Wilson has just gotten to the end of the hall. The hall is not very long and Nurse Wilson is not walking at a slow enough pace to have just reached the end of the hall. She should have already gotten past the end of the hall when Dorothy looks out.
Correction: There are many rooms along the corridor, she could have been checking on other patients, making her take longer to reach the end of the hall.
Corrected entry: Dorothy and Ozma escape the clinic after the power goes out. However, as they're running outside the clinic, you can see that the lights are on inside.
Correction: The lights come on as they come down the stairs and the nurse steps out of the door under the stairs. She may have been checking the fuse box and had just gotten the power turned back on.
Corrected entry: When Dorothy and Aunt Em are making their way to the doctor's on the horse and buggy, they pass a General Store which is sporting a very modern American flag on the side of the building.
Correction: If you look closely at the flag, you will see it has less than 50 stars, as the pattern is different than today's.
Corrected entry: When Dorothy is stepping on the stones over the deadly desert, between the cut of the overhead shot to the close-up of her feet, the stones surrounding her change, and more appear, some vanish etc. (00:24:05)
Correction: The Gnome King's minions are rock-creatures and can use stones and rocky surfaces any way they like. When Dorothy is stepping on top of the stones, you see eyes fluttering up, proving these stones are being used by the King's minions. So they could conceivably sink and/or pop out of the sands at will.
Corrected entry: When Dorothy escapes from the hospital, the blonde girl only unbuckles one strap, though three are fastened when she first lies down on the bed.
Corrected entry: After Dorothy discovers her old house and the yellow brick road, she starts running down the road to the Emerald City. When she stops in front of where the main gate should be, she is not out of breath.
Correction: Dorothy was obviously fit enough to not run out of breath from running that distance.
Corrected entry: When Dorothy goes to steal the key from around Mombi's wrist while she is sleeping, we can only see Mombi's hand and arm but we can hear her snoring and snuffling. When Dorothy has taken the key and is noticed by the heads in the chamber they start to scream, awaking Mombi. When Mombi arises and starts to chase Dorothy she has no head, as all of her heads are in the glass cases, so why were we hearing snoring that suggested it was coming from under the covers?
Correction: Well, Mombi is a magical creature, after all! Also, without a head, she still has the bottom part of a neck. The snoring noises could've just been air escaping from the big hole in her neck where she would've attached a head.
Correction: It is entirely possible that it held this record for some time, but in 1994, Scarlett, the sequel to Gone with the Wind came out. Wizard of Oz and Gone with the Wind both came out in 1939, so Scarlett came out 9 years later and therefore would knock Return to Oz out of that spot.
