The Rundown

Question: Does anyone know the name of the character that shows Beck into the night club in the beginning?

MoonFaery

Chosen answer: I've rewatched the scene and as far as I can tell, the character is never named.

Chosen answer: He wasn't searching him with the toad. The local man was attempting to sell it to him. It was simply odd timing in the movie for that to happen.

Answer: Yes, he says so in the movie. He explains that it gets too messy. Also, it shows that he is stronger than using an easy weapon like a gun. People like to see fist fighting, rather than gun fighting.

Continuity mistake: Beck walks into a bar in the middle of a jungle and soon engages in a conversation with Mariana who is sitting at the end of the bar nursing an orange juice/soda while reading a book. She almost finishes her drink when Beck complains to her that where he comes from "there are bartenders." She then moves over to the bar, taking the almost empty glass with her, and proceeds to serve Beck a beer. When the camera switches angle and zooms in to Beck, slowly cutting Mariana out of view, she's seen taking another sip of orange drink, but now the glass is about half full. (00:21:00)

Travis: You don't understand the situation.
Beck: You borrowed money from the guy. You shot the wrong guy. You slept with the wrong guy's wife. I-don't-care. Your mistake.

Trivia: California Govenor and former action star Arnold Schwarzenegger makes a special guest appearance in this movie. When Beck first arrives at the night club, Arnold walks right by him and tells him to "have fun." Arnold had just become Govenor and knew he would not be acting for awhile so this was his way of passing the torch to someone he felt would take his place as the future of action movies.
