Ginny: You remember that movie where the ten strangers went to an island, and then they all died, one by one? And then it turned out they weren't strangers, that they all had a connection.
Larry: And you don't mess with the wrong guy when he's gettin' revenge.
Rhodes: Shut up.
Ginny: I'm just saying that maybe's there some connection between all of us.
Ed: Like what?
Larry: We're all in Nevada.
Rhodes: Shut up.
Paris: You're a complicated cat, Edward.
Paris: That's not possible. I was standing right there. I saw what happened. We all saw what happened.
Dr. Malick: Who am I speaking to?
Answer: The motel isn't real, and neither are any of the characters in its proximity. They are all aspects of Malcolm's personalities that are being killed off one by one in order to make sure his true murderous personality is vanquished. As such, the session by which Malcolm is being forced to do all this is designed so that all the personalities are stuck within the same place with no chance of leaving, which explains the bad storm, the road obstruction, etc.
