Corrected entry: At the end when Mitch and friends are driving the herd through the river, there is a terrible rainstorm. However, several times, especially when Mitch is in the river, you can see the sun shining and casting shadows all around. That was one crazy rainstorm.

Correction: Yep, and I've been in a few of those crazy rainstorms living on the Prairies. It is really possible to have a downpour one minute, and clear skies another, then back to rain. Just yesterday, within half an hour, the skies were clear, then a hail storm, then cloudy with sunny breaks.

Corrected entry: Near the end of the movie, Mitch, Phil and Ed ride up to the ridge together and look at the ranch below (where the cattle are to be delivered). Notice their faces: while Mitch and Phil have plenty of stubble Ed is clean shaven. Given their circumstances (lost in the wilderness, major rainstorm, no food supply) it seems odd that Ed would be concerned about shaving....

Correction: Perhaps, but Ed is full of himself and is obsessed with his ego and appearance. It's possible that he shaved (and we see him doing this just before the stampede) and the others didn't, simply because he loves himself. Look at his young girlfriends if you need proof of his vanity.

Corrected entry: When Mitch's boss complains about the 'Pizza Time' commercial, he remarks: 'No, but you bought it.' Radio stations don't buy commercials. Companies buy air time from radio stations. Mitch even explains this to his son's class.

Correction: Mitch isn't talking about him buying it financially, but that since his boss is likely in charge of approving commercials, the commercial was allowed to air, thus in Mitch's mind, his boss bought into the idea of the commercial.

Even if you argue that he meant "bought into the idea of running it", it still doesn't make sense. 1. Local ads are usually written and produced by the radio station in-house, meaning Creative would be responsible, not sales. If the ad was supplied by an agency, the sales person would have nothing to do with that. They just sell the time. 2. Creative and/or Programming (different departments) are responsible for flagging ads, not sales. The sales-person would never get reprimanded for a bad ad.

Corrected entry: During the scenes of the cattle drive, Mitch and the boys are riding in the middle of the herd, with the cattle all around them. In reality, cowboys ride around the outside of a herd. Riding in the middle looks good for a movie, but in real life would scatter the cattle in every direction.

Correction: Well they seem to be doing it in the film and the cattle aren't running all over the place. Yes, it may be good practice to go on the outside, but that doesn't mean you always have to.

Corrected entry: At the very end, driving away from the airport, Billy Crystal calls his calf "Norman", which is his name, but then Billy calls him "Mitch", which is Billy's name.

Correction: It's Barbara who calls out Mitch's name, not Mitch calling the calf the wrong name.

Continuity mistake: During the scene where Billy Crystal and Jack Palance are riding and talking about the "one thing", notice that Jack Palance's cigarette has a huge ash, then has just been lit, then has a huge ash again.

Ed Furillo: Trusted us? They followed us because we yelled, 'Yah'. They're cattle.

Question: After they pull Mitch from the river they say something that sounds like "Mick werts", what did they actually say, and what does it mean?

Answer: Mitch says "nice catch, it was like Mays in the ‘54 World Series." To which they reply "Vic Wertz." Wertz was the Cleveland Indians player that hit the ball into the outfield that New York Giants player Willie Mays spectacularly caught.
