Teri Hatcher was three months pregnant when she filmed her scenes - she took the part to fulfil her then-husband's ambition to be married to a Bond girl .
After Teri Hatcher's character has been murdered, James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) shoots dead her killer (Vincent Schiavelli). When he does so, the expended bullet cartridge ejects very, very quickly and hits Brosnan squarely on the forehead.
All the interior shots inside the Type 23 frigates were filmed in the HMS DRYAD ship simulator; most of the personnel in the background are real Royal Navy Officers and ratings. The commands and procedures are pretty accurate, though some had to be altered so the general public could understand the gist of them.
The film's original working title was actually "Tomorrow Never Lies".
In the scene with the helicopter chase the helicopter was real, not a model.
When Götz Otto (Stamper) was called for casting, he was given twenty seconds to introduce himself. He just said: "I'm big. I'm bad. I am bald and German. These were five seconds" - and got the role.
In the scene where "Q" (Desmond Llewelyn) delivers Bond's new car, he was originally going to open a box containing a live jaguar, saying " wrong crate". Although the scene was deleted from the final cut, you can still see the crate with the jaguar in the background.
Two of the locations used in "Tomorrow Never Dies" were not as exotic as the movie makes them seem. The HQ of the Carver Media Group was in fact the IBM Building at Bedfont, Middlesex (near London Heathrow Airport). And the sequence supposedly set in an underground car park in Hamburg was actually a closed-off section of the multi-storey car park at the Brent Cross Shopping Centre in North London
