Continuity mistake: When Billy pulled the medallion out of the ground, part of the cloth covering it was hanging past his hand, but when he blew dirt off the cloth, the cloth was compactly covering the medallion. Also, the cloth should have had more than some loose dirt on it and the medallion - after buried in the ground for 200 years - should have been dirty and tarnished, not clean. (A cloth covering the medallion would not protect it from soaking rains). (00:23:35)
Continuity mistake: At the end the guy is watching the video of the man that shoots himself in the chin, blood and bone go everywhere, then it shows the guy and girl walk in but there's absolutely no blood. They would have definitely noticed it.
Continuity mistake: When Turbo is about to go down the curb after nearly getting killed by the lawn mower, you see him lined with the 2, he's on the left side of the 3.
Factual error: When Diana's father's surgeon shows Diana around the hospital, they end up in an operating room and they are both wearing street clothes. Problem is there are doors in every hospital where operations are performed and no-one is allowed past those doors without wearing scrubs, paper hats, booties and face masks, no matter who you are - they have to keep the operating rooms as clean as possible.
Continuity mistake: The protagonist at the beginning of the movie sunbathes topless.The camera is positioned where the kid is spying her, and in that wide shot she is placing the garment she removed close to her lower half of the body. When he waves his hand casting a shadow over her eyes, the bikini top is in the corner of the towel next to her head. (00:01:20)
Continuity mistake: Max is wearing a suit jacket while he is beating a young woman. He throws her against a dresser and then when he goes to pick her up he is in shirtsleeves.
Continuity mistake: After Seligman offers to wash Joe's coat, she tells him not to and it's her coat. He shrugs it off and sets the coat on the bed and turns, walking away. It suddenly jump cuts to him being back at the foot of the bed facing her and asking her what happened.
Factual error: There is a shot in the movie showing the outside front view of the Apple Head Office building. At the bottom of the screen it states the year (1981 or 1982). As the year is posted on the screen, a Chevy Cavalier drives into the shot in the foreground parking lot of the property. The Cavalier's style/shape and front headlights reflect that of a 1992-1994 model car - not a car from 1981 or 1982. (01:04:20)
Continuity mistake: By the end of the film, we realise that the Djinn (in this case an invisible and shape-shifting earthly entity of Islamic lore) has staged most of the film's events as a mass illusion. Meaning, the Djinn is a deceiver and can lead humans into dangerous and even deadly situations, but the Djinn cannot perform physical miracles (or else the whole movie would end almost as soon as it started). At the story's climax, the lead characters, Khalid and Salama, end up in the 62nd-floor penthouse of a luxury high-rise, where Khalid drops Salama to her death from the penthouse balcony, just as the vengeful Djinn intended. However, only minutes earlier, we see that the high-rise building is actually still under construction, and it's stated that the building is months away from completion (its main entrance and plate glass have not even been installed). The Djinn only created the illusion that the building was completed to deceive the lead characters. In reality, without electricity and functioning elevators and hundreds of feet of completed stairwells, there was no physical way for Khalid and Salama to reach the 62nd-floor penthouse suite of the high-rise for the climax scene, even if they were being deceived by illusion.
Continuity mistake: When the movie starts and Linda takes a glass of water to her lips, the hand with which she holds the glass swaps between shots.
Other mistake: The last half of the movie is based in France. Mr. and Mrs. Jones are being rescued by a French man that she has been texting. He comes to them on the cliffs in his boat. The flag waving behind them is the flag from the Netherlands not the French flag. They have the same colors but the stripes on the French flag are vertical while the ones on the Dutch flag are horizontal.
Continuity mistake: After stabbing the bad guy at the beginning, Callahan for some reason pulls back and somehow dives past a door managing to drag in a grown woman who was all crouched down by the entrance. Wonky physics of it aside, the bad guy shoot at him, but shoots just a hole in the door frame. The hole appears to be CGI, and in fact when Callahan shoots back from the bedroom, the hole is gone. Continuity mistake: As El Camaleon pulls the Cuba Gooding Jr. face off, there's an unshaven neck with a tattoo visible under it. After the cut, Lady Gaga's face (also presumably unshaven admittedly, but not visibly so) comes to light under a mask of visibly lighter skin tone. (00:45:05)
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, the waiter is wheeling the cart out of the building. Two workers are loading the van, with Saman to order them around. One is wearing a hat, the other isn't. Hatless Guy walks out of the van first and is sprinting back towards the building, with Hat Guy noticeably behind, but in the next shot Fabrizio passes the cart to Hatless Guy and Hat Guy is already way past them both. Continuity mistake: Our group of jewelry thieves are on their way to "Zugarramurdi" in a stolen taxicab. The "green soldier" Antonio began to wash the color from his face. Nevertheless you can see, depending on the camera angle, that the green color is sometimes seen on his nasal bone and sometimes not. (00:20:55 - 00:21:30)
Visible crew/equipment: When the group are finishing the recording of 'Tell Me if You Wanna Go Home' on the rooftop and Dan and Violet's guitar solos are finishing, the shot begins to pan out. Just before it reverts back to a close up, on the left hand side of the shot a crew member or piece of equipment slips into the shot (the shadow is also visible on the ground).
Continuity mistake: In the scene at the beginning where Simon Yam is telling Karen Mok that the case she is working on is closed, as he holds her shoulder to turn her towards the door in one shot, and her hair is completely at her back behind her shoulders, but as he turns her around and the shot changes, her hair on the left side is seen over her shoulder in front.
Factual error: In a large metropolitan hospital there would have been more than one ventilator machine in the neonatal unit.
Character mistake: Luca calls Eve in the dark outside the house, searching her. But they all know that Eve is deaf. (00:33:20)
Factual error: Near the end, Zoe and Trey battle to the death, Zoe armed with a tomahawk and a knife, Trey armed with a Husqvarna chainsaw. During the battle, Zoe manages to amputate Trey's right hand, with which he was gripping the chainsaw's safety release and trigger (as his left hand gripped the support handle). Bellowing in pain, Trey continues swinging the chainsaw by its support handle with his left hand. Lo and behold, the chainsaw is somehow, miraculously, still revving in-and-out, which is only possible if the safety release is continuously depressed with the palm of the right hand as the fingers rhythmically flex to squeeze the trigger. Of course, with all major tendons in the wrist severed, an amputated hand cannot grip or flex or squeeze anything.
