American Hustle picture

Corrected entry: When De Nero is asking the "Sheik" questions in Arabic, one of the FBI undercover guys rescues him by acting drunk and interrupting the meeting. At that point they whisk the Sheik away. In a following scene, he's still at the table.

hankypanky

Correction: I have watched the scene twice now and there is no evidence of anyone leaving the table when the FBI guy interrupts.

Agent Carter picture

Corrected entry: At the end of this short film, Howard Stark tells Peggy Carter that he wants her to run S.H.I.E.L.D. With him. However it wasn't until the end of the first "Iron Man" film, which takes place several decades later, that S.H.I.E.L.D. Started using the acronym. Before that they were known as the Strategic Homeland Intervention and Enforcement Logistics Division. Agent Coulson even states a couple times in "Iron Man" that they were working on simplifying their name. (00:00:45)

Correction: This is wrong. A government agency has to introduce themselves with the full name of the organization. It is why all identification has the initials and the agency's name. The one time Coulson mentions anything about shortening the name was done as a joke.

August: Osage County picture

Corrected entry: During the fish lunch with Ivy, Barbara and Violet, all three smash their plates on the floor, yet after Ivy runs out and drives away and Barbara returns to the dining room, their full plates are still on the table. Violet was the only one in the room and she was too weak to have cleaned the mess, especially in such a short period of time.

MovieFan612 Premium member

Correction: Watch the scene again. Barbara does not throw her main plate. When the scene returns to the dining room, hers is the only main dish plate on the table.

The Heat picture

Corrected entry: In the scene near the end of the movie where Sandra Bullock is stabbed in the leg by one of the villains, there is no evidence of blood in that scene or any scene afterwards.

Correction: Adrenalin was rushing through her when she was first stabbed and all through that scene. So blood would not have been gushing from the wound. And Shannon bandaged her up later so when the adrenaline was gone, it was covered.

Escape Plan picture

Corrected entry: Stallone uses the wax layer from a drinks carton to place over the keypad to his cell so he can get the 4 digit code, all well and good but the wax sheet is not numbered, so when it is removed he would have no idea how it was fitted on the keypad, leaving him with multiple combinations. When he does escape he cannot see the keypad from his cell and is just using blind luck to key in the code.

Correction: He made mention that it came to finding the correct sequence. It is never specified how long he worked on it until he found it.

lartaker1975

There's only 10,000 possible permutations. He must have got real lucky.

10,000 is correct for four unknown digits but the wax is supposed to show him which four are used. That's only 24 combinations. That assumes there's no limit on attempts but it's a much more feasible number.

Correction: He tinkers with it for a minute (judging by the timecodes of the camera), and could not do any test the days before or the cameras would have caught him. I believe his "amazing good luck" is solid as a plot hole.

Kick-Ass 2 picture

Corrected entry: When Mother Russia places the lawnmower on the back of the police car it continues to run, however that type of lawnmower needs the bar on the handle to be held down for the engine to run.

Firewall

Correction: Most people I know, myself included, use a clip to hold the handle down so that they can step away from the mower without having to restart it.

Begin Again picture

Corrected entry: When Mark Ruffalo goes to see Ceelo Green for a favour he asks him for a bass player and a drummer. Those characters have already been shown playing with the band in an earlier scene.

Correction: The earlier scene switches between panning across the band and clips of how Mark recruited them to the band in the first place. It ends by focusing on the bass and drummer then plays the scene with Ceelo connecting the scene before.

The Lone Ranger picture

Corrected entry: The opening scene takes place in 1933 and shows a young boy in a cowboy outfit looking at dioramas in a Wild West exhibit at a carnival. In the background, "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" is playing. While the song was written by Bob Nolan in 1932, it wasn't released until 1934.

Correction: This is not entirely correct. Pioneer Trio (which included Bob Nolan) was hired in 1933 as staff singers for radio station kfwb where they sung the song "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" (initially "Tumbling Leaves") during some of their radio appearances. It then became their theme song when they were given their own radio show. It wasn't until May 1934 that Sunset Music purchased the copyrights to the song that the song was published, but it was on the radio before that.

Jack the Giant Slayer picture

Corrected entry: The king nor his army ever seem to see the huge beanstalk when they find Jack and never realise it until Jack points it out. The beanstalk was too big for them to miss. One should have at least noticed the beanstalk on their way over there.

Casual Person

Correction: They did notice the bean stalk. That is why he is out with his army.

Planes picture

Corrected entry: Dusty says he is Norwegian to the car that comes and picks him up, but later on the scoreboard it shoes a U.S flag instead of the flag of Norway.

Correction: Dusty says "it's Norwegian", referring to his stage name, not himself.

Saving Mr. Banks picture

Corrected entry: Travers Goff and little Ginty are sitting by the river in what appears to be a remote area after she visits him in the bank and yet she is licking a large, perfectly shaped, unmelted ice cream cone.

bnemirow

Correction: I would have to disagree. First, they are living in what was then a small, back-water town that probably has only a a few main streets and is surrounded by little else. A river could be right next to the town. Second, in the shot with the ice cream cone, Ginty and her father are sitting against a tall river bank, and the embankment behind them is too high to see over or any of the surrounding geography, so there is no way to judge if this is a remote area. They could easily have gotten the ice cream and walked a short distance to the river before sitting down. Third, Ginty's ice cream is half-eaten, nearly down to the rim of the cone, its rounded shape is from her having licked it, keeping it from melting all over her hand.

47 Ronin picture

Corrected entry: Kira has Oishi, his worst enemy, trapped in a dungeon under heavy guard for an entire year, but suddenly decides to release him and send him off without even keeping a watch on him. And conveniently, this all happens just in time for Oishi to stage his revenge and prevent Kira's marriage to Mika.

Twotall

Correction: He told his soldiers to break his hope. And He told him "you'll be released when I'll be married to the girl". But then, he has other plans than let Kira take his village. That's why he kept him alive. Just to let him watch this and be desperate.

Evil Dead picture

Corrected entry: When Mia is first possessed she manages to walk around and shoot at her brother while drugged up on enough tranquillizer to 'put a horse to sleep', but at the end of the film it only takes one shot of the tranquillizer to knock her out for long enough for him to not only bury her, but give his teacher friend a fond farewell too.

Correction: It was a huge dose of tranquilizer she was given at the end; the line about putting a horse to sleep was pure hyperbole. The fact that it was delivered in a single shot is irrelevant given the sheer size of the syringe's barrel.

Olympus Has Fallen picture

Corrected entry: The president asks his son to choose a tie from a black or brown one. He gives the black one to the kid and keeps the brown one. In the next scene the president has the black tie.

Correction: He gives his son the brown tie. This could not be mistaken if you watch the scene twice. I will note that, minutes after putting on the black tie, he is in the Oval Office, wearing a crimson tie. For those checking this on the DVD, this could have been poor lighting during the filming, making us see the crimson tie as black when he was putting it on.

LEGO Batman: The Movie - DC Super Heroes Unite picture

Corrected entry: After Batman hits Joker with a net and pins him to the ground, he gets out of his jet and hops down. There is a chicken leg next to the jet from Joker's previous attack. But when Batman is getting back in while Superman and Robin are talking, the chicken leg has disappeared. (00:13:45)

Correction: The shot isn't continuous in any way. By the time Superman comes, the police have already arrived, taken Joker, and left. Plenty of time to pick up objects that belonged to the Joker.

Ender's Game picture

Corrected entry: In the scene where Ender is promoted to the Salamander Team, the Commander is pitching the baseball that is then caught by Ender. A conversation ensues and then the Commander enters the scene from a different corridor.

Correction: The game is being played in the hall in which Bonzo Madrid (the Commander) enters the corridor that the conversation is being held in. In simpler terms, the ball is pitched down the hall, and then it is hit by the batting toon. The ball then flies through a different corridor and is caught by Ender.

Turbo picture

Corrected entry: When the broadcasters are beginning to talk about the Indy 500, one states that it was tele-casted in over 200 countries, however the total number of countries in the entire world is only 196 (while the number is slightly debateable, 196 is generally viewed as the maximum).

Correction: According to the U.N., there are 206 states (or what the layperson would call countries). 190 states have undisputed sovereignty. While 16 states' sovereignty may be disputed by the U.N., for broadcast purposes, they would be considered their own country, especially by the announcer, who wouldn't bother explaining the nuances of a state's independence.

Oz the Great and Powerful picture

Corrected entry: When Oz the Wizard first arrives in the Land of Oz, he helps the monkey. After the monkey pledges his life to him, Oz forces the monkey to carry his bag. The monkey struggles with the bag, and at time drags it along on the way to the Emerald City. Later, after the Wizard of Oz begins looking for the wicked witch, the monkey flies around with the bag in one hand. He continues to have no trouble with the bag in scenes following the drip to the dark forest.

ujeremy

Correction: Oz unpacked most of his stuff at the city so his bag was much lighter.

The Way Way Back picture

Corrected entry: Toward the end of the show, fuel is being pumped into the classic 1970 Buick wagon. The problem is that he's using the green pump, which would indicate diesel. GM didn't introduce diesel engines in passenger car until the early 80's.

Correction: They stopped at a "BP" gas station. All pump handles are green at this brand gas station.

The Wolf of Wall Street picture

Corrected entry: Early in the movie, during Black Monday, Jordan Belfort is sitting at his desk at L.F. Rothschild; there is an electronic Ticker Tape running in the background, and all the stock prices are green, indicating higher prices - on Black Monday, stocks dropped 22%. The same all green electronic Ticker Tape is used in the background at other stages on the movie. (00:10:00 - 01:00:00)

Correction: That display was a monochromatic LED type - it only ever displays in green.
