Gilmore Girls (2000) - 5 questions

starring Alexis Bledel, Edward Herrmann (add more)

The "questions" section is for any random questions that occurred to you while watching this film, or anything you didn't entirely understand, and which Google or the IMDb can't help with. Submit them as a question, and hopefully someone will answer (the bold comments in brackets) - check back regularly. If the answer is wrong, or missing information, please use the "clarify answer" option. Don't feel limited - want to know what music played in a certain scene? Whether this was the first film to use a certain effect? Here's the place to ask!

Entry Does Lane live with both her parents? I've heard her talk about "parents" in plural but I've never seen her father, nor heard anyone talk about him. Anyone who knows? [Yes, Lane lives with both her parents. Her father does live with them, but we have only been seeing her mom.]
Entry What is the DAR that Emily always talks about? [Daughters of the American Revolution is an organization for women. Part of the membership requirements is that you have to prove that one of your ancestors was a "Patriot of the American Revolution", i.e. in America back in the 1770's and working on the American side. Stereotypically (not true but assumed), the membership are upper-class snobs like Emily.]
Entry In season 5, in "Wedding Bell Blues", at the bachelorette party, Lorelai gives Emily a box of pasta. I didn't really get the joke here? [It was pasta made into inappropriate things.]
Entry I know Rory and Gigi are half-sisters, but out of curiosity, what relationships would be required to make them step-sisters? [Half sisters (or brothers) share either a mother or a father, but not both. Step sisters mean there is no blood relationship at all and one's mother and the other's father got married to each other.]
Entry In terms of days, weeks, months, etc., how long were Lorelai and Christopher married in season seven? [They were never married. She was engaged twice. Once to Max, once to Luke. The show ended before she wed.]
