Padme: Are you sure about this? Trusting our fate to a boy we hardly know? The Queen would not approve.

Qui-Gon Jinn: The Queen doesn't need to know.

Padme: Well I don't approve.

Comments made in brackets are corrections from other visitors. As such, any aggressive/abusive corrections (and I get quite a few) written as if they're comments I've made myself will be ignored. To submit your own corrections for mistakes, just click the edit icon under an entry, then choose "correct entry". Some entries have "duplicated entry" after them - these are entries which were already listed on the main page, but were submitted again. I occasionally leave these online for a while, just in case they were moved in error, so don't worry about pointing them out to me.

Entry In the opening story text of The Phantom Menace, it refers to Obi-Wan and Qui Gon Jinn as Jedi knights- but Obi-Wan is still a padawan and not yet a Jedi knight. [He's a Jedi Knight in training and is ready for the trials. Close enough, particularly as the opening text must, by necessity, be brief.]
Entry As the cockpit of Anakin's starfighter closes, his mouth is moving as if he's talking, but nothing is heard. [His mouth is barely moving. Regardless, people make soundless mouth and facial movements all the time.]
Entry When Darth Maul takes his hoverbike thing after finding the missing Jedi, you can see a pair of tire tracks from a car or truck. [Vehicles with tires/treads can be seen in at least one of the Star Wars movies. Just because we don't see them onscreen is no reason to believe that wheeled vehicles don't exsist on Tatooine or Naboo.]
Entry The same actor plays Nute Gunray, one of the Naboo pilots, one of the Senators, and the Jedi Ki-Adi-Mundi. [Information that can be gleaning simply by watching the credits is not good trivia.]
Entry Darth Maul should feel how strong Anakin is in the Force, yet he doesn't mention to his master that a Force-strong boy is traveling with the Jedi. If Sidious had told Maul about Anakin ahead of time, then Maul wouldn't try to hurt the boy with his speeder bike. [Saying what a character should or shouldn't do is generally a character mistake, if that. Maul was intent on getting the Jedi he was instructed to eliminate. From what we can see he only came close to hitting Anakin nothing else. While he may have been told to watch out for the boy or felt he was strong with the force this is just presumptious and there is no film mistake here.]
Entry Jedi are not supposed to have a lot of possessions, yet when Anakin leaves Tattooine, he gets to take a whole pack of stuff with him. Because Qui-Gon is so sure that the Council will want Anakin trained, he shouldn't have asked or allowed Anakin to bring stuff from his old life. [First of all its not a lot of stuff only a small backpack, second of all the boy would have a hard enough time having to leave his mother, why make it harder on him by denying him a few possessions for the trip.]
Entry In the space battle when Anakin starts the explosion inside the space station, a male pilot says "We didn't did it." It's correct to say "We didn't do it." [The pilot says "We didn't hit it". Even if he had said the line as the submitter suggests, it would only be a character mistake, since a little slip up like that would be understandable in a situation where you are fighting for the survival of your people.]
Entry During the race, the amount of dirt on Anakin's face change from shot to shot. [Obviously, because as the race goes on he gets more and more dirt on his face. That's common logic.]
Entry When Darth Sidious talks to Darth Maul on the balcony, it is the same as Senator Palpatine's apartments. [That is not in the least bit surprising seeing as Darth Sidious and Palpatine are one and the same. Furthermore, this is not even valid trivia in that it is pointing out something which is obvious to anyone who watches the movie.]
Entry When Obi-Wan and Qui Gon are fighting Darth Maul, they leap onto a ledge where Maul is at. Watch closely as the camera pans out, you can see Maul trip and almost fall down. [Believe it or not but when you listen to the DVD commentary, this is supposed to happen.]
Entry Just before the announcer says, '...that's gotta hurt.' (about midway through the pod race) and again at the end of the race, watch carefully when the shot focuses on the audience cheering and you'll see a giant skeleton head being lifted a bit by the person next to it. (They may have used the same shot twice.) There's no way this prop can be confused with an alien audience member; I guess the extras were bored that day. [It is not a skeletal head, and it is not being lifted. It is the head of an alien standing up. You can see another member of his/her species in the lower right hand corner.]
Entry After Obi-Wan cuts Darth Maul's lightsabre handle in half, one half falls to the floor. It can't have fallen into the pit, because of Maul's position when the sabre was cut in half. But in the following wideshot, the part that got cut off is nowhere to be seen, and it did not make a sound if it hit the ground. [The half that Obi-Wan cuts off flies into a panel on a wall. If you look closely in said wide shot, you can see the wall panel with smoke billowing out of it.]
Entry In the scene when princess Amidala, Qui Gon, Jar Jar and some other characters are recovering the palace, Amidala was sitting in a chair and then she opens some kind of box next to her and takes out a weapon; in the next shot she stands up and it seems as if she is almost going to fall. [How is this a mistake? People do find themselves off-balance at times.]
Entry When Obi-Wan gets Qui-Gon's light saber and cut Darth Maul in half, when he falls he doesn't fall cut in half. They have to wait until they press standby to get the cut in half dummy. Basically even before Darth maul would fall he would be cut in half. [Since no one has ever been cut in half by a lightsaber, we don't know that. The two halves could have "stuck" together, from the blood and fluids acting as a glue of some sort. We also don't know the phisiology of Maul's species, so we simply can't make assumptions about how long it'd take for him to fall into two pieces.]
Entry When Obi-Wan is hanging on to the ledge when he fights Maul, he sees Qui-Gon's lightsaber on the ground next to him. The design of the hilt is the same as Obi-Wan's. No two Jedi have the same hilt design. [There's no rule stating that Jedi must have a unique design - Jedi build their own lightsabres using whatever design they see fit to use. There's nothing to prevent Obi-Wan from building one similar to his master's sabre.]
Entry After Obi-Wan cuts Darth Maul in half and he falls into the pit, You see Obi-Wan and his lightsaber is off, a couple of seconds later you see that his lightsaber is on, with no sound of it reactivating. [There is no shot of Kenobi with his lightsabre off - in one shot, the beam follows the line of the wall, making it less clear, but it is there.]
Entry When Darth Maul kicks Obi-Wan off the walkway, he falls off the walkway feet first. In the next shot, he falls down head first. [Firstly, he falls off sideways, not feet first. Secondly, he falls a pretty long way - remember that Maul also falls to a lower walkway (Qui-Gon jumps down to join him), and Obi-Wan still has to leap upwards to get to them. We certainly don't see the entire fall, making it entirely plausible that he twisted in mid-air during the part of the fall that's off-camera.]
Entry When the astromech droids are going to repair the shield generator, two of them start moving towards the lift that will take them up to the hull of the spaceship. One has yellow marks, the other has red marks. In the next shot, neither of them can be seen in the area near the lift, but when R2-D2 rolls out on the hull, both of them are there. [There is no way to tell how much time is between when the red and yellow marked droids go up the lift and when R2 goes up the lift.]
Entry After Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are gassed at the beginning, the door opens and they come out to fight the robots. During the entire fighting scene, the yellow gas remains inside the room although the door is wide open. In reality it would come out and diffuse. [By the time the droids get there, the rather large room has filled with gas, which is still being blown into the room after the door opens; therefore, it only seems like it's not diffusing, since the gas is so voluminous and ever-increasing in mass.]
Entry During the Podrace, the announcer says, "Skywalker's been forced onto he service ramp" before it happens. [It may not have actually happened yet, but the annoucer has probably seen a good number of races and could have been able to tell that Skywalker would be forced onto the ramp.]
