Comments made in brackets are corrections from other visitors. As such, any aggressive/abusive corrections (and I get quite a few) written as if they're comments I've made myself will be ignored. To submit your own corrections for mistakes, just click the edit icon under an entry, then choose "correct entry". Some entries have "duplicated entry" after them - these are entries which were already listed on the main page, but were submitted again. I occasionally leave these online for a while, just in case they were moved in error, so don't worry about pointing them out to me.

Entry When Austin and Vanessa are spying on Dr. Evil in Las Vegas, Austin picks up his camera and it has a huge lens on the front. When Dr. Evil's car leaves and Austin looks at Vanessa, he starts taking pictures of her with his camera, which suddenly has no huge lens on the front; there wasn't enough time for him to have taken it off between the shot of the car leaving and him turning around to look at Vanessa. [I've watched this, and they're two different cameras.]
Entry When Austin is drowning the Irish assassin in the Las Vegas bathroom, he pulls him out of the wall, in front of himself, and into the toilet. How did Austin manage to walk OVER the drowned, upside down dead guy to get out of the stall? [By lifting one leg to the other side, and going around.]
Entry In Austin Powers 1, in the scene where Clint Howard is monitoring his radar screen, He calls his superior and reports the Big Boy on his screen. He refers to himself by his last name, which is "Ritter". Its even printed on his uniform, in which the military uses only last names. But in Austin Powers 2, In the scene at the end when all the different people see the big penis shaped spaceship, There he is again, monitoring his radar, but this time his superior calls him presumably by his last name, which is now "Johnson". [The sequence from the first movie takes place in 1997, while the second takes place in 1969. It's supposed to be two different people portrayed by the same actor.]
Entry In the scene where they are going through Las Vegas on the top of the bus there are several times when Austin stops walking and Vanessa does not. [How is this a mistake?]
Entry The Austin Powers movies are a spoof of the James Bond movies and there are references to said franchise. The movie is set in Las Vegas, so was "Diamonds are Forever". Austin's card game like the one in "Thunder ball". The scene where he is being lowered into the sea bass tank is from "Live and Let Die" and Dr Evil is a spoof of both Blofeld (scar, main bad guy) and Dr No (being a doctor, plus his outfit in the first movie at least). [This information is common knowledge and the point of the three movies existing in the first place and therefore not trivia.]
Entry When we are first introduced to Vanessa, Basil says that she is one of their top agents. Near the end of the movie, she is excited that the mission has gone well, so that she will now be promoted to a 'full' agent. The presumption being that she was on a kind of apprenticeship or learner's program. [Basil wouldn't have told Austin that she was just a "trainee". He lied when he called her a top agent.]
Entry When Dr Evil says "We're not so different, you and I" watch Austin and you will see that Mike Myers was replaced by another actor. [That's the whole point. One of the comic aspects of 'Austin Powers' is the sending up of the poor selection of lookalikes used when an actor plays two roles in a film - Dr Evil's body double is much taller than Myers and sticks out like a sore thumb. Same with Austin's 'double' when Dr Evil is in shot.]
Entry Austin Powers was frozen in 1967, and the Boeing 747 (the Jumbo Jet shown in the movie) was first placed in service in late 1969 and early 1970. Yet he has one... [The first commercial 747's were flown in 1970, yes, but the design of the plane was complete years before this. And it is a common staple of secret agent movies (Austin Powers, James Bond, Mission Impossible) that the agents have access to ultra-modern or even futuristic technology. It is not unlikely, in this context, that Austin received a jumbo jet in 1967, before any had been delivered to airlines.]
Entry After Austin has destroyed the fembots he is found by Vanessa and two soldiers. From the berets and insignia they are members of the parachute regiment. Why do they both salute differently, both wrong? One uses a Royal Naval salute (that is palm face in) and one like the US armed forces (palm face down), while the British Army (which the paras are a regiment of) and the RAF salute an officer with the palm facing out. [People in the military salute wrong every single day out of stupidity, nerves, or any of a number of reasons.]
Entry In the scene where Austin and Vanessa are unpacking in the hotel room and he suggests that they shag, she reminds him that they are only sharing a room on the "context" of being husband and wife. The word she means is "pretext." [Human error. Vanessa made a easy mistake in saying the wrong word that any human could make.]
Entry During the milk jugs scene, if you watch Austin pouring the milk into the cups, you can see he's missing the cup on the right side, probably to stay in line to cover up Liz. You can see the milk pouring onto the saucer. [He's pouring the milk into the cup, just pouring it at a steep angle so there's milk spilling over the side (not coming out the lip) and that's what's spilling onto the saucer.]
Entry Watch how long it takes Austin to get from the bed to the sofa to get the message from Basil Exposition on his laptop - he appears to transport instantaneously without the trouble of actually crossing the room. [We know neither how far away the sofa is, nor how much time elapsed between shots, the fact that it cuts from him kneeling next to the bed to sitting on the couch implies that he took the trouble of crossing the room with the laptop. Every second need not be shown onscreen.]
Entry When Vanessa and Austin go into the bathroom to steal the lab coats of the vitrucon employees on the tour, Vanessa steals a really big lab coat but comes out in a obviously tight one. [That's the joke. Elizabeth Hurley is a slim woman and Mike Myers is a relatively short man, so it's obvious that those lab coats wouldn't fit them, the fact that they get coats that fit is part of this movie being a farce.]
Entry It's already mentioned that the waitress' hat comes off, then comes back on. Look at the scene again; Austin punches the waitress and her hat comes off, then, when it's back on, Austin pulls the hat and a fake wig off altogether, so how could the hat fall off without pulling the wig off in the first place? [Probably they're not actually attached to each other and the second time he just managed to grab both of them.]
Entry In the sequence where Dr. Evil is telling Scott to be quiet, he gives him the "web address" www.shh.com.org. However, he only says *two* 'w's, not three. Saying it aloud with him reveals the difference. [Since Dr. Evil has been frozen for 30 years and has only just learned of the internet, isn't it possible that he could forget the number of w's?]
Entry When Austin is picking up his personal effects, one of the items is a credit card receipt for the Swedish-made-penis-enlarger. We know the minimum year this could of happened is 1967. While credit cards were used in the 50's, they could only be used in restaurants, and not for buying items from shops - credit cards like the one Austin would of used did not appear until the 70's, with the widespread use of magnetic strips. [Since Austin had been initially frozen in 1967 - not the 50's, it's quite possible that he bought the pump at some time right beforehand. Plus, being a prized member of British intelligence, it's likely he had privileges the general public didn't, i.e. credit card usage.]
Entry The scene where Austin is doing the modes of transportation (the canoe, the escalator, etc.) he uses the word elevator. Now if Austin and Vanessa are both English, why didn't he use the English 'lift'? [I am English and I use the word 'elevator', as other English do use the term elevator and not lift.]
Entry When Austin & Vanessa arrive in Las Vegas at the hotel it is night time, but when they get to the room and start unpacking their bags you can clearly see through the net curtains that is is bright sunshine outside. [It's not day time. It's the neon lights of the hotels and casino's that make it look like bright sunshine outside.]
Entry When Dr. Evil is unfrozen he says he will try to break up Prince Charles' marriage. If he was frozen in the 60's he would not have known about their wedding in the first place. And he can't have learned about it from a quick history lesson, otherwise he would also have learned that they'd broken up. [When Dr. Evil was frozen in 1967 Prince Charles was just a teenager and single. Dr. Evil knew that as the heir to the throne Charles would have certainly been married thirty years later as his primary task as heir would have been to get married and produce his heir. It would not have been unreasonable for Dr. Evil to presume that in 1997 when Prince Charles was approaching 50 that he would have been married by then. In 1967 no one in the Royal Family was divorced so he would have been surprised by Charles' divorce.]
Entry At the end when Doctor Evil is freezing himself for the second time, Austin is holding a machine gun. The shot cuts out and then back in as Austin shoots at Doctor Evil as he climbs into the metal egg thingy, but Austin is firing with a pistol. After the big boy has taken off again, it shows Austin again with a machine gun. [First Austin has a machine gun which No. 2 takes from him. He then picks up a pistol from the table and fires. In the next shot you can see him pick up the machine gun (probably after putting down the pistol in the meantime).]
