Entry In the scene where Ian is talking to John Hammond's nephew at the beginning of the movie, Ian says Hammond twisted the facts regarding the deaths of 3 people. In the first movie, there were at least 5 deaths: the worker in the first scene, the lawyer, the velociraptor expert, Dennis Nedry, and Mr. Arnold. It's unreasonable to believe that the truth was told about some of the deaths merely because that would involve admitting the existence of the dinosaurs. [First of all; Ian Malcolm did not know about the worker who was killed, as this happened long before he even set foot on the island. In addition, nobody was present when Nedry died, and as you say, InGen would have suppressed any information about this they could, leaving Ian also ignorant of how and when Nedry died (if he notices at all). So he only knows of three deaths for certain, and might suspect more, but does not have any evidence.]
Entry How does the high hide work? It's well above the tree line, so can't be hooked on top of one, and the only secret it gives away is that it is pulled up by the car winch. Yet Eddie leaves the high hide to save the others, taking the car with the winch with him. So what has happened to the hide? [It's hooked from either a taller tree or a tree that grows on higher ground. You can see parts of the tree above and to the sides of the high hide when it's first raised.]
Entry After Roland's men help Ian, Sarah and Nick over the edge of the cliff, just after the T-rex attack, the group discuss what they should do. Ian suggests that they should go to the sea, Roland rejects the idea as he says that that is a well used water source. Yet animals need to drink fresh water, not salt water, as that would just dehydrate them. [Ian suggests they head to the lagoon, not the sea. Depending on how separated it is from the sea water or if it's fed by a river, a lagoon often has potable water.]
Entry The velociraptors are definitely smaller than they were in the first film, despite supposedly being exactly the same. [Any number of reasons for this. Perhaps they were younger. Many reptiles grow their entire lives, not just until adulthood. It is also likely they sustained on a different diet than the ones in the showcase park, which could also affect growth speed. It could also be a different breed, since no-one said they were identical to the ones in the first park.]
Entry When Sarah tells the others to use dirt to put out the fire as that doesn't make smoke, Nick proceeds to completely ignore her and just puts water on and makes lots of smoke. [So he ignored her advice. That's not a movie mistake.]
Entry In the scene where the trailer is hanging over the cliff, Dr. Malcolm is climbing down to save Sarah from falling through the glass. On his way down, he calls up to Nick to get the satellite phone. He calls him Vince, however, which is the name of the actor playing the character Nick Van Owen. [Because of the phonetically similar vowel sounds, it may sounds like "Vince," but he says "Nick." Mouth movement even matches.]
Entry When Sarah is on the roof, trying to escape from raptors, she falls onto a light and out a window; then all of a sudden she is being picked up by Kelly and Ian, and she is nowhere near a building from which she could have fallen. [There's a large warehouse-type structure directly behind her when she gets up.]
Entry In the scene were Sarah jumps from roof to roof the shingles change. [This needs to be more specific. Which shingles change? How do they change? Near as I can tell, it looks the same.]
Entry When Sarah is photographing the stegosauruses, we see Vince Vaughn getting his camcorder ready; then the camera changes just as he is putting it to his face, and all of a sudden it a regular camera, not a camcorder. [He has two cameras, a camcorder and a Nikon that he swaps. There are lengthy shots focused on Sarah during the "all of a sudden" during which he could have swapped cameras.]
Entry In the INGEN boardroom scene, cut from the film, when Peter Ludlow is talking about the cost of Jurassic Park, the deconstruction of it, and the settlements made to the famillies of the 3 dead people, he says that they paid millions to the family of John Arnold (played by Samuel L. Jackson). But John wasn't his name, it was Ray. [This is a mistake, but I know why they made it. In Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton, the book the movie is based on, his name is John]. [Some people like to use their middle name as their first. His name could have been John Raymond Arnold.]
Entry When the T-Rex hits the trailer it flips sideways twice. Then the trailer starts sliding off the cliff due to it's sliding on it's tires, which are clearly visible. However, both trailers are connected so the tires should be facing up. [The "trailer" is supposed to consist of a two units (a "tractor" pulling a "trailer") connected by a flexible corridor (well, it is in the book). Therefore it's theoretically possible for one half of the vehicle to be turned over by 180 degrees and the other half to remain upright on its tyres, as the flexible corridor would just twist.]
Entry When Kelly is doing the gymnastics to kick the raptor out of the shack right after she says HEY YOU. If you pause it, you can see it's ACTUALLY a man doing the stunt. Why didn't they get a female? [The rules of this site are clear - if you have to pause the film to see it, it is not a mistake.]
Entry A four-foot-tall juvenile Tyrannosaurus rex would weigh at least one-hundred seventy to two-hundred pounds. There is no way a normal person could carry it about without a supreme effort, and they dandle it about like a small puppy. [I don't believe anyone has actually weighed a real live 4-foot tall Tyrannosaurus Rex so who's to say how much one would weigh. A better judgement of the baby Rex's weight would be to make a comparison between it's size and that of the adult humans. This would make the baby Rex about the size of a husky young boy with a subsequent weight of around 100 pounds max, fairly easy to carry.]
Entry Hamond said that the dinosaurs were bred on Isla Sorna, even though in the first film we saw the dinosaurs being born on Isla Nublar. [Hammond was not completely forthcoming in the first movie. While some dinosaurs were born on Isla Nubar, Isla Sorna was the major "factory," so to speak.]
Entry When the T-Rex hits the trailer for the first time and it rolls over, the sheet of glass, the same one Sarah lands on later, can be seen falling out of place, so it shouldn't be there to catch Sarah when she falls. [It falls slightly out of place not all the way. It gets propped up on other things lying around. It is in a position so that when the trailer goes into its vertical position the sheet of glass falls back into place. ]
Entry Malcom's team has 2 SUVs and the big trailer. In one scene, one of the SUVs is employed to raise and hold up the 'high hide'. In a following scene, we watch the second SUV fall over the cliff. In a later scene we watch the first SUV (the only one left) attempt to hold up the trailer from falling off the cliff. What happened to the "high hide" and the people within? [Eddie surely lowered the High Hide and told Kelly to run, thus explaining the free car and the fact that Kelly met up with Nick, Ian, and Sarah after the trailer went overboard.]
Entry When the big tugger is hurtling towards the waterfront, don't you think the Coast Guard would have warned the personnel at the waterfront about a boat going REALLY fast in their direction? [The coastguard may have only thought to warn at the last moment when it was too late. It could also be believed the coast guard was sure they would slow down or start turning. Even if they were concerned they might believe that the crew would warn them if they weren't able to slow down but as we see they were all dead - something the coast guard wasn't aware of.]
Entry When the T-Rex is destroying San Diego, it bites a street sign that reads "Cedar". In fact, there is no Cedar Street in San Diego. [A quick search on Mapquest proves that yes, there IS a Cedar Street in San Diego.]
Entry Near the beginning of the film as the little girl gets attacked by small dinosaurs, it cuts to Dr. Ian Malcolm standing in front of a poster of a tropical island, making you think he is on the island. However, the "poster" has been a little enhanced to create the illusion; it is actually a live shot of a tropical backdrop. If you look closely, you can even see the palm leafs move in the wind. [The image behind Malcolm hasn't been enhanced; it's just a picture. Any apparent movement just seems to be an illusion. ]
Entry In the scene where Kelly is introduced, she comes running into the garage saying, "Dad, dad, dad" and hugs Ian. Eddie and Nick are both present. But when they get to the island and Kelly comes out of the trailer, Eddie and Nick are both surprised that she is Ian's daughter. [Not really so surprising, as neither Eddie nor Nick actually see Kelly in the scene where she is introduced, and Kelly looks completely African-American.]
