Entry There's a scene where Braddock talks about a dream he had where he is having dinner with Mickey Rooney. The year is 1933. In 1933 no one really knew who Mickey Rooney was. He had been in a popular kid's series called "Mickey McGuire", but he would not become famous until the late '30s. [Braddock was telling the story to his daughter, if what you say is correct and Mickey Rooney was in a popular kids show called "Mickey McGuire" isn't it possible that Braddock and his young daughter knew who Mickey Rooney was?]
Entry After the Depression has hit the Braddock family hard, Jim and Mae are furious to learn that their son stole meat from the butcher to help feed the family. Despite their poverty, Jim chides the son for taking what is not his. Later in the movie, however, we see Mae and the children tearing off boards from a billboard sign near their home to use for firewood. Isn't that considered stealing as well? [That was the point of the scene, to show how bad things had gotten for them. ]
Entry "Hooverville" is shown to be in Central Park. NYC's "Hooverville" is on the west side on empty land next to the Hudson River. [The film is accurate. During the Great Depression, the largest Hooverville in New York was located in Central Park.]

Entry They are struggling to constantly pay the bills, however, throughout the movie part of the great depression, the Braddock family will randomly have new clothes. The best example of this is when Mae goes to go talk to Gould at his apartment and suddenly she has a new hat. Sure, Gould had just given them $175 so that Jim could train, but I doubt that Mae would have wasted that money on a new hat for herself. [Just because we never see that hat in prior scenes doesn't mean it's new. Perhaps that hat and the other 'random new clothes' were kept only for special occassions.]
Entry Right after the movie goes into the Great Depression, Jim Braddock goes out into the kitchen where Mae is cooking breakfast. There is a clock over on a shelf by the stove. Throughout the entire scene, the time never changes. [Clocks break or simply stop, and many people, myself included, have left the broken or unwound clock untouched for an indefinite amount of time.]

Entry During the Great Depression part of the movie it is constantly mentioned that they are unable to pay their electric bill, however all the lights in the Braddock house are almost always on. They would use them sparingly so that they would have a lower bill to pay. (There needs to be light in order to see the characters in the movie.) [You are correct, they were unable to pay the bill which means that they are past due, but they haven't been turned off yet. Later in the movie they are so far past due that the power does get cut off (there is even a scene where the guy is disconnecting it). After it is disconnected, they use candles. No mistake here at all.]
