When Tom Hanks first meets the woman he is staying with, he mentions the University of Mississippi in Hattiesburg. The University of Mississippi is in Oxford. Southern Mississippi College is in Hattiesburg. [Tom Hanks' character is a slick thief masquerading as an academic. The fact that he was able to slip this by Mrs. Munson without her catching it is indicative of his charm, and indicates to the audience that it was just a cover.]
