Factual error: The evil fairy states that Princess Aurora will prick her finger on a spindle - the part of a spinning wheel that holds the bobbin. Spindles aren't sharp; what Aurora actually pricks her finger on is the distaff, which is used to hold the fiber before it is spun.

Other: When the three fairies are cleaning up the cottage, Merriwether has the broom magically sweep all the dust into a pile, then she makes the pile disappear. Right after it does so, the picture is stuck in a freeze-frame for about half a second.

Continuity: In the scene where the two kings are fighting, one of them pulls a swordfish from the table and after they calm down sticks the fish in his belt. In the next shot the fish has disappeared.

Continuity: Before they start using magic, the fairies lock the door. When Rose gets back, she prances through the door easily.

Factual error: Phillip cuts through the thorny mess on his way to the castle by swinging his sword from side to side. He and his mount then advance without harm through the overgrowth. Cutting to the left and right would not clear the path directly in front of them.

Continuity: When Flora is dressed as a peasant woman, the laces on her bodice change, sometimes the lace goes from top left to bottom right, others it's top right to bottom left.

Continuity: During the forest cottages' dressmaking sequence in the middle of the film, watch the backgrounds carefully. You will see backgrounds change themselves from one scene to the next (doorhandles disappear and reappear, plates reposition themselves on shelves, flowers mysteriously regroup themselves).

Continuity: When the fairies enter the prince's cell, his cape is laying on the seat. The fairies give him the sword and shield, which he admires while Flora talks for a while. Then they leave the cell with the prince wearing his cape. There is a very small period of time where we are not looking at the prince but nowhere near enough to put aside the sword and shield, pull on the cape, clasp it, and pick up the sword and shield again.
