When the Aragons were in danger of losing their crop to cold weather, they lit fires between the rows of grapevines and fan the warmed air between the plants. In several shots the flames and smoke get very close to the vines, with no harm to the plants. However, when Alberto accidentally starts the fire that ruins their farm, watch how the grapevines go up in flames - it's almost laughable how quickly they ignite. Near the beginning of the film, Keanu Reeves gives Victoria a fake wedding ring from one of the chocolates. Previously, you can clearly see that he is wearing his real one. When he puts another ring from the chocolate on his own finger, his original one is gone. [He puts the ring from the candy over his original ring. He doesn't replace it.]
In his flashbacks of the war Keanu Reeves enters an orphanage. This is written above the door of the ruin. But since it is the second world war the place is located in either France or Germany and so the sign should be written in french or german. [These are not strictly accurate flashbacks, but from his memory and even from dreams (he's asleep or dozing every time he has a flashback) so many of the details aren't perfectly accurate - this is deliberate.]
